Steven Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 Wilcox and Blake return for tonight's reserve game and Chambo misses out. <_< Wilcox And Blake ReturnJason Wilcox and Nathan Blake are set to return to match action for City's reserves game at Crystal Palace. The pair have been sidelined by long term injuries, but have both been named in the starting line-up for the second string tonight (Wednesday) as they continue to battle back to full fitness. It is five months to the day since Wilcox limped out of the Foxes' Championship match at Coventry with a cruciate ligament injury. The former England international has shown good progress in his rehabilitation in recent weeks and will be delighted to be able to take to the field again. It will be the first time that Craig Levein's coaching team have had the chance to see the ex-Leeds and Blackburn man in action following their arrival in Leicester. The match will also see Blake partner Tommy Wright up front, making his comeback from a torn hamstring suffered while on loan at Leeds United. CITY: Peter Akman, Peter Canero, Alan Sheehan, Liam Norvall, Scott Lycett, Stephen Dawson, Levi Porter, Chris O'Grady, Nathan Blake, Tommy Wright, Jason Wilcox Subs: Louis Dodds, Conrad Logan, Tyson Payne, Ricky Muggleton
TrickyTrev Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 Quite an experienced team, I think that Wilcox could be useful for us in the run in if we can get him back fit. We are very short on left sided players and he was actually one of our better players at the start of the season.
Little Nicky Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 Totally agree with those sentiments, the highlight being his goal against Sheffield United, in frankly one of our very rare home wins! He got injured in my opinion just as he was starting to look the player I knew he could be again, I hope he can just make some sort of impact in the remaining few games of the season and win a month by month contract or something similar next season!
Simon Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 Dodds dropped for Nathan Blake? Hahahaaaaaaaaaaa 79281 Thats the one I noticed- why not play Dodds instead of O'Grady??? And am I right in thinking O'Grady is training with the first team now? I thought I saw him behind Levein, Connolly and De Vries on one of the LCFC World interviews this week...

Completely different since when Micky Adams was here ignoring them.

Surely at 15 you're doing quite well to get in the reserves- you must be doing something right
Anish Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 Dodds dropped for Nathan Blake? Hahahaaaaaaaaaaa 79281 Dodds should be ahead of Wright by now - Wright has had plenty of reserve team action without impressing as much as Dodds. I agree that Blake should be given a start though.
Ash Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 Nice to hear Wilcox is back though, He can actually cross a ball.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 That sounds like a good idea.. how do you find out these things??? Going to Belvoir Drive I guess, apart from whenever I go the first team train on the top fields away from the car park where spectators stand. If you chose the right day you can get really good views but if you go on a strength and conditioning session then you see nothing.
emmalcfc Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 2-1 to Leicester Blake and O'Grady with the goals Link
Steven Posted 16 March 2005 Author Posted 16 March 2005 It worked on mine, or was I dreaming it 79519 If you have not been to the site before then the link will not work. If you want a fuller explanation, I will oblige.

Ash Posted 16 March 2005 Posted 16 March 2005 Good result for the reserves,Well done lads. I bet Blake is on the bench for the West Ham game.
Ric Flair Posted 17 March 2005 Posted 17 March 2005 Blake won't be on the bench on friday, for one because it will be too soon for him or Wilcox to take part in first team football so Rob Kelly says and also because Levein doesn't rate him. With Dublin having an effective game upfront on tuesday and De Vries and Moore fighting for a first team spot with Connolly I can't see how Blake will get anywhere near the first team. I think what's best is he keeps scoring for the reserves and either bum chin Adams comes in for him or some other mug. I'd like to see Connolly and Dublin upfront with Moore coming on for Dublin if things aren't going to plan. Let's try that, Dublin seems to have found his hunger for the game again.
Little Nicky Posted 18 March 2005 Posted 18 March 2005 I might start watching the lads train next week out of my window, ah the joys of living next to the training ground
