jtabbott Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Greetings foxes, just poppin in from Plymouth to add to this l'ucky omens' thread. The last three Argyle shirts I have bought have had the names of players on the back. 1) Tony Capaldi - Free tranfer to Cardiff (Feckin Scum) Very unpopular here now. 2) Akos Buszaky - 500k to QPR (Feckin bargain, doin very well) sorely missed. 3) David Norris - 1.something M to Norwich (Legend) Absoloute star of a player, best of our bunch. I nearly got Holloway on one, but the mere thought of this was enough to send him your way! I might just get 'ARGYLE' printed on the next one, in the hope that someone will buy the entire club, help us out financially etc. Anyone had similar unlucky omen experiences? -GREEN ARMY-

AmericanScott Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 My mate's coming for once, he's only been to:the worthington cup final the spurs game (3-2 at the walkers) Watford this season Barnsley this season The hull game where Joey scored from the halfway line they're all I can think of at the mo but that's 5 wins right there, he's NEVER been to a game and we've lost. madness. Ahhh but what about Southampton in the FA Cup 4th round in 2006? ;) My "lucky omen" seems to be the missus who hates going to matches but i drag her along anyway an here's why. Watford - W 4-1 Ipswich - W 2-0 Norwich - W 4-0 Those were all 3pm kickoffs. She's not allowed to go night games anymore since we lost to Sheffield. (First post everyone)

Steven Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Seeing a fox as a lucky omen is being like a gambler you only remember when you win, well obviously not you What happens when you see a dead fox?
WetFlannel Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 What happens when you see a dead fox? Kick it under a bush, keep on walking and forget everything that just happened.
ASH17LCFC Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I wonder what Derby fans do, when they see dead sheep
Daggers Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 It was the Yellow Away shirt.Trust me. Which is going to have to come out to play today seeing as the wife put my old fashioned shirt collection on boil wash and shrank the entire lot. She insists that she is not responsible for it - so I am on the hunt for some malevolent washing machine fairy. I'd only worn my Wales '77 shirt once.
MC Prussian Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Oi DavieG: Has Mr. Fox shown up again? And is your son accidentally missing out on a game again?
MC Prussian Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 *slap* Thanks. In dire need of one, tell thee. Must be something about Saturday mornings.
ceebeefox Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I am a season ticket holder who travels rarely. But when I do we win ( last game Bristol City) i'm that confident i've been down the bookies in Groby and had a bit of 7/4 . Cov fans at work say if we score first we will win.
davieG Posted 23 February 2008 Author Posted 23 February 2008 I wonder what Derby fans do, when they see dead sheep Shag them
davieG Posted 23 February 2008 Author Posted 23 February 2008 Oi DavieG:Has Mr. Fox shown up again? And is your son accidentally missing out on a game again? No and he rarely can make away games. Away games require different omens.
MC Prussian Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 No and he rarely can make away games. Away games require different omens. Such as...?
Zingari Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 err what happened ? i'm starting to think there's nothing in any of this bullsh*t mumbo jumbo ( and that's not just Holloway's team talks , its all this lucky omen stuff too )
Nath Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Me not going Maybe you should go? We might win away then.
Darkzzz_ Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 I thought my missus was a lucky omen, turns out she wasn't in the end, i still blamed her for our defeat though.... Poor girl!!
