Hull City

I had this conversation with another guy a week or two ago. He was saying how they were a shit team til I pointed out that they were about 2 points off the playoffs with a game in hand.

Really nice stadium, good cachement of fans who are fairly vocal, plenty of money. They'll go far. Biggest city in Europe to never have had a top flight football team but not for much longer methinks.

I agree. I have thought for many years now, for all the reasons you state above, that if Hull got themselves some investment, which they now have, that they are a big club waiting to happen. Good luck to them too, I've always had a soft spot for them.

Who cares about Hull fekking city! We need to focus on ourselves, not other shit teams doing well.

This is general football and sport mate. When I'm down the pub with my mates I discuss many things, other football clubs included. If you don't like the thread, then the solution is simple: ignore it.

Hate to think what we are then.

Ermmmm.. SHIT! hence why i said other shit teams. And they are doing well this season, like Colchester did last season. I can't see it lasting long though.

Hull have far more potential than Colchester will ever have. As has alread been said, they are in the biggest city in Europe never to have hosted top flight football,

so the fan base is there to be tapped into. The infrastructure in terms of a stadium and finance now exists too. They have all the makings of a big club. Colchester never did.

This shows that you know nothing. It's an entirely different kettle of fish. Colchester have few fans in their area - Hull are the only city for miles. Colchester had no money - Hull, I can assure you, have lots. Colchester therefore had to sell all their good players - Hull are in a position where they can buy but spent fairly cautiously and are still doing well, believe me they will be spenders next season. Colchester's ground is a dump that seats about 6000 people - Hull have one of the (officially voted) nicest stadiums in the country, capable of seasting about 22k and with plans to expand to 30k, 40k, 50k, whatever they need.

They've the potential to be a Premier League club and it will happen soon providing they are well managed.

Their current team make Derby look like Barcelona!

The fact they're doing so well shows how dire this league really is, and how poor the teams near the bottom are. :(

The difference between them and us is:

We think we're someone we're not.

They don't.

One wise word of advice to you:

Grow up, kiddo.

Thats laughable.

They have 11 players on the pitch that work they're socks off for each other. If you can get 11 committed players together with good communication you are part way to becoming a good team. They have a settled squad and they really are a club going places.

Hull City have a sound goalkeeper, two brick like centre backs, hard working full backs, committed central midfielders, wingers that can stick the ball in the box and strikers who can stick it in the net. If you think their team is poor you know little about what's important in football.

They havent got a lot of amazing players but they play really well as a team and the combination of Windass and Campbell seems to be working and they have Folan on the bench.

This is the worst thing about our league. Teams like Hull, Plymouth and Bristol City are seriosuly challenging for promotion.

:frusty: What?

Im sorry but i don't enjoy watching my team facing oppostion like that and seeing them near the top.

Surely we can focus on producing a better team then them, im sure we have a bigger budget.

Its just annoying, i didn't think much of Hull when we played them earlier in the season as well as Plymouth. Ive seen Bristol City on TV and i see nothing special in their sides exept they actually care about the result and want to win the game. Fair play to them for being up their and good luck to them but its one thing that i hate. Why can't we do the same?
