Zingari Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 I have an unusual first name and growing up in the 70s I did get a lot of stick. It probably wouldn't be a big deal nowadays. All my kids have very ordinary names. is it fido or rover or something

andyh1884 Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 Seriously, some people just don't think before naming their children. I hope Sara Cox's new child takes the father's surname.. Baby boy for Radio 1's Sara Cox BBC Radio 1 presenter Sara Cox has given birth to her second child, a baby boy called Isaac. The 33-year-old and her new son are said to be doing very well. Cox hosted the station's weekend lunchtime show before going on maternity leave, and is due to return to the air in September. The broadcaster, whose current partner is Ben Cyzer, has a three-year-old daughter, Lo la, from her first marriage to DJ Jon Carter. Cox rose to prominence as a presenter of late night Channel 4 programme The Girlie Show in 1994. She acted as Radio 1 breakfast presenter from 2000-3, and was replaced by the early morning show's current presenter, Chris Moyles. Annie Mac is currently hosting Cox's lunchtime programme. Isaac.....FFS

Trav Le Bleu Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 might be a strange thread but TPH puts out some really strange topics out there so..... now i went to pick my mums perscription up from the doctors this morning and there were 2 woman with 2 kids each, both trying to re schedule their appointments and i was wondering why cant kids have normal names these days...... they were all called nevada-sky and daisy-boo and kai and thumbellina yes thumbellina(and they are just first names), and its not just where i live is it....? like some magazine advert on tv a mintue ago and some celeb has done an article on her baby marlow! what? my sister is friends with a girl called princess........, WHAT, major bullying i should imagine! anybody notice this these days? You need a license to own a dog or a cat - you need to pass tests to drive - but they let any idiot be a parent
Zingari Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 Barry & Sharon would suffice. bazza and shazza the only names you need
Thracian Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 Tell me about it, what's wrong with traditional names such as Nichittar, Harbhajan, Ujagar and Salamat. Instead of these modern names such as Sharandeep, Kierandeep, Romandeep!! No mention of Milandadeep!
Dr The Singh Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 No mention of Milandadeep! The full name would be Milanindeep shitt!!!
lookwhaticando Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 Can you believe some twat would name their kid Apple?
stez Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 Can you believe some twat would name their kid Apple? all names must've been weird at one point or another. imagine being the first terrence, vera or harold.
Zingari Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 all names must've been weird at one point or another. imagine being the first terrence, vera or harold. yes i suppose so, but names usually meant something in those days ; eg vera would mean something like truth or honesty
Zingari Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 Can you believe some twat would name their kid Apple? especially if your granny was called smith
lookwhaticando Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 yes i suppose so, but names usually meant something in those days ; eg vera would mean something like truth or honesty Apple means something these days. The sad thing is, it doesn't mean the fruit to many millions of people in the developed world - it means the company who make stylish mobile music playing devices.
Zingari Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 Apple means something these days. The sad thing is, it doesn't mean the fruit to many millions of people in the developed world - it means the company who make stylish mobile music playing devices. indeed it does they should do that word association with kids these days to see how modern living has changed the perception of the world ; it would be interesting how many kids would say "ipod shuffle" or something to that
lookwhaticando Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 That poor kid (Apple) will suffer a few ipod shuffles, I can bet. It'll start with a war over Lego, or whatever it is the kids are playing with these days.
Zingari Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 we weren't given any toys as kids but we always found something to play with
