morris1234 Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 might be a strange thread but TPH puts out some really strange topics out there so..... now i went to pick my mums perscription up from the doctors this morning and there were 2 woman with 2 kids each, both trying to re schedule their appointments and i was wondering why cant kids have normal names these days...... they were all called nevada-sky and daisy-boo and kai and thumbellina yes thumbellina(and they are just first names), and its not just where i live is it....? like some magazine advert on tv a mintue ago and some celeb has done an article on her baby marlow! what? my sister is friends with a girl called princess........, WHAT, major bullying i should imagine! anybody notice this these days?
morris1234 Posted 5 March 2008 Author Posted 5 March 2008 call them all danny or danni (for a girl), job done! well the most out of the ordinary name when i was at school was nico! but like i said theres princess and jafazwha........................
Dr The Singh Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 Tell me about it, what's wrong with traditional names such as Nichittar, Harbhajan, Ujagar and Salamat. Instead of these modern names such as Sharandeep, Kierandeep, Romandeep!!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 For me there's nothing better than naming your child after the entire first team squad of the team you support. If you have a daughter, that's just their bad luck
davieG Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 We had an Archibald, I'm just waiting for it to become fashionable. As one who has one of the most boring names on earth and a surname that used to be the second most common in England I can see benefits in unusual names. Besides these days if you don't like it's relatively easy to adopt a different one provided you're not out defraud anyone. My sister didn't know her real name until she got married when she found out my Dad had registered her under a name he liked.
The People's Hero Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 I plan to have a Juliet Rose, an Isaac Dylan and an Oscar Fox oh and an Elsie Efsee.

Ok you say names nowadays, but my dad is 66 and his middle name is Kai!!! But as far as other names go that you have put down, they are all ludicrous and the children are going to be in for a lifetime of torment because of their names!! Just found this. Its a link to celebrities babies names! Oh dear to some of them is all i can say! http://www.gurgle.com/tools/baby_names/Cel...ty/default.aspx
Alexikokopops Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 For me there's nothing better than naming your child after the entire first team squad of the team you support. If you have a daughter, that's just their bad luck I had a dream where I changed my middle name from Richard to the surnames of the entire 1994 play-off squad. I fear it's going to happen when I come home drunk one night and change it through the Government Deed Poll online website.

Just get on and do it. Presumably there's nothing to stop you changing it back again, but you might want to check that out first
The People's Hero Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time, But all the people can't be all right all the time. I think Abraham Lincoln said that. I'll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours. I said that.

the_bowman Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 I don't know anyone at my school with a weird name... and the strangest I can think of is Billy Joe Armstrong's (singer of green day) son - Jake Danger
Webbo Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 I have an unusual first name and growing up in the 70s I did get a lot of stick. It probably wouldn't be a big deal nowadays. All my kids have very ordinary names.
