morris1234 Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 what is it with people and steve howard! weve been crying out for a target man for ages and get who i think is a fantastic player and he gets slated for doing nothing! 'hes lazy' etc yeah hes no dj campbell, hes not got pace but today i heard tonnes of people slating him but i thought he did what was asked of him, everytime we hoofed it to him in fairness he did win it pretty much all the time and poeple expect him to be some superhero and score 30 yard headers, ok im totally against hoffing it to his head all the time and i was pis*ed off but he did get the ball at his feet a few times and played some good through balls to the midfield i thought! honestly if youre giving him the ball in the air and he wins it what else can he do? now in all seriousness without the jokers, does anybody agree with me??
morris1234 Posted 22 March 2008 Author Posted 22 March 2008 and another thing, while im on the rant these nobs who ring in on the post match radio leicester show are foo*ing gaums, get rid of holloway he needs to get a goalscorer in and some good wingers, and its not just them, i listened in on a lot of conversations and some people are sooo stupid its un true............... wellllll 1) do you think they would want to come to us in this situation. 2) weve not got endless money 3) we can only loan players at the mintue 4) if these players to speak of getting are really that good then they arent going to get loaned out are they by their clubs are they! 5) if it was that easy we owuld have done it! 6) we have no devine right to promotion fights and signing quality players, you earn that right by playing well!!! anybody want to add to the list? THIS WILL PROBABLY GET DELETED BY MODS BECAUSE ITS ANOTHER ONE OF THESE TOPICS THAT WEVE SEEN BEFORE BUT IM SICK OF IT! so i actually want to know what people think about our situation adn why they actually think that not just holloway is shit cus we dont win or fryatt (who was our saviour apparently) i shit cus well hes just shit!!

I agree. Howard is a good player and certainly by far the best finisher at the club. Although I think he thrives on confidence (something he looked totally devoid of at soton the other week) and is more of a ball player than our back four seem to think he is (haven't seen that amount of hoofing to him for a while). Unfortunately I have a cretin that sits to my right at home games who was having a go at Howard at every opportunity - he's clearly the kind of tosser that's never played the game, as he seems to think that Howard can head or control a ball that hoisted six foot above his head. The only reason I haven't twated the little rat-faced prat is because he sits with his family - poor bastards. Needed to get that off my chest.
Flynny Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 He had no idea where most of his headers were going today and wasn't interested in recieving the ball on the floor. Amidst today's performance thats not particularly bad, though. I look forward to seeing better from him.
Babylon Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 He had no idea where most of his headers were going today So it's nothing to do with where the people off the ball are going. and wasn't interested in recieving the ball on the floor. And he had much choice... JESUS!!!!!
Maybes Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 How people can slate him for being poor today I do not know. There were many other individuals on that pitch that played just as bad if not worse. What do people expect howard to do when he has nothing what so ever to feed off? We hardly created a decent chance at all today!! As for the idiots on radio leicester, one of them being matt piper, "we need a goalscorer like tony cottee, brian deane and dion dublin" that one made me laugh...I mean dion dublin he was hardly proflific was he?
Flynny Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 So it's nothing to do with where the people off the ball are going. And he had much choice... JESUS!!!!! Firstly, no, not really. Half of them were going all over the place. I'll admit we need pace to make full use of his flick-ons but he's not fantastic at them. Secondly: Yeah, he did. He didn't put himself in space, and when he moved to a beautiful position as Hayles was running wasn't even paying attention.
Mark Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 I agree. Howard is a good player and certainly by far the best finisher at the club. Although I think he thrives on confidence He thrives on perfect passes into his feet, any pass a yard away from him and he's just not going to reach it and make some use of the ball. I don't like him at all if I'm perfectly honest, a one off hat trick won't change that, his style of play sucks and don't help us going forward.
Monk Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Howard, target man yes but it would help a great deal if he was able to direct his headers.

To be fair a pass a yard away from anyone is going to be difficult to reach, in fact most would say that's a shit pass.
Stuliasz Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 It's simple. Stop playing it to his head with his back to goal outside the box.
DB11 Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Some retards rang up after the game (one retard with a high pitched voice ) saying he never jumped and when he did he went about one inch off the floor. Lmao I don't think so. Some people just want to be critical

Lmao I don't think so.Some people just want to be critical and some woman was on it aswell and said she went to the game but she was ringing from her house in glenfield!! what!! how'd you get home?! fuk*n helicopter!!!
DB11 Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 and some woman was on it aswell and said she went to the game but she was ringing from her house in glenfield!! what!! how'd you get home?! fuk*n helicopter!!! Left at half time?
morris1234 Posted 23 March 2008 Author Posted 23 March 2008 Left at half time? that gets ridiculous, fine people might need the toilet but because people want to bet the lines for food they go down after like half an hour and its getting earlier each time!
Simi Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 It's simple. Stop playing it to his head with his back to goal outside the box. Exactly what the feck is he supposed to do apart from knock it down in a shit area to feed off. Neither Hayles or Fryatt was ever close enough to him to give him something to knock down to. Can't understand why. We're never working the ball into wide positions until it's to late. May as well bring Bori and Laczko back in, at least with them we used to get the ball wide although the final ball left a lot to be desired.
