The People's Hero Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 Any good any more? He's playing at the Hop Farm - Kent. £50ish.
purpleronnie Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 I hear he plays mainly new songs. A couple of his recent albums were good but they don't touch a lot of his older stuff. Still a legend though. Definately worth going to see I think.
Webbo Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 I don't know any of his new stuff, but it doesn't get any better than this. Heart of gold Harvest moon
Zingari Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 The b*st*rd scored the winner for Man City against us in the '69 FA cup final
purpleronnie Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 Harvest would probably make it into my top 10 albums of all time. Rust Never Sleeps is also brilliant. Also love some of his 90's stuff the brilliant Freedom, Harvest Moon, Sleeps With Angels and because it was with Pearl jam Mirror Ball He also released some great live albums - Live Rust, Weld, and probably the best ever MTV Unplugged anyone ever did and I include Pearl Jam in that list.
Daggers Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 I must be getting old - fifty pounds for a sodding concert? I love Neil Young but he can cock off if he expects me to pay that kind of wedge. Saw him in London on some balmy summer evening - pot of vodka-based fruit punch at my feet and a load of funky fags. It was an excellent evening. Shame we had to drive there and back in a bloody Citroen Diane 2CV.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 I'd say he was on the verge of almost being past it. He can still rock, but just going slightly stale at the edges.
The People's Hero Posted 26 March 2008 Author Posted 26 March 2008 My main problem is fifty quid is steep. The main attraction is that no one ever comes to Kent, so when someone does venture to Leeds Castle of the Hop Farm, I feel almost duty bound to attend. But Fifty squidders???
