Stuliasz Posted 22 March 2005 Posted 22 March 2005 I try not to dislike Americans cos most of em are decent honest people but WHY!!!!
Guest Posted 23 March 2005 Posted 23 March 2005 Other countries were happy with the English version but oh no, America has to do there own shitty version 81977[/snapback] They always do, I'm afraid.

Newcastle_Fox Posted 24 March 2005 Posted 24 March 2005 It's appalling, should have left it the same as the english version. Damn Americans think they have a different sense of humour to us so have to change it!
Anish Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 I downloaded and just saw the first episode of the American version. Terrible, it really was. Nobody can do David Brent (or the manager's character) as well as Ricky Gervais. It was so poor I didn't laugh once.
Cat Burger Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 'I deliberately didn't do arabs, I thought that would be too explosive' I dunno whether they have the same episode on at all times, but I remember that line and I laughed.
Cat Burger Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 Yes, I've just had a massive argument with this bird that I pasted into word and it was 21 pages without spaces. I'm going to bed now.
Scarby Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 I sleep at all anymore think i might put a bond film on
Benji Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 bloody hell ryan someone must have done something big wrong not a bad idea scarborough so long as you change the bond film for something else
Matt Posted 28 June 2005 Posted 28 June 2005 Its on BBC Three now...Its really poor, i've only got it on because I can't be arsed to turn the channel over But its sooooo bad
Hitesh Posted 29 June 2005 Posted 29 June 2005 Watched 5 minutes on BBC three the other day. Terrible!! it was written by Gervais but must of had some input by American producers because this was no where as good as the original.
toonboy Posted 29 June 2005 Posted 29 June 2005 Some sample test americans watched the british version and didn't get the humour so that is why they changed it to a new american one. saw an episode the other day and it was poor. one hint of a laugh in the whole episode.
New England Fox Posted 29 June 2005 Posted 29 June 2005 It was never going to do well over here as they put it in a difficult timeslot. They put it on at 9pm on Tuesday night which meant it went head to head with a lot of popular and established series. Personally I love the original Office but this one I turned off after 15 minutes of the first episode. The style of humor needed just isn't there when done by American actors.
