The time it would take for the fourth official to watch a replay and talk to the referee would defo stop these big decision being made incorrectly. But then how long will it before fourth officials are complaining about having too much weight on their shoulders.

How about the 4th official can make a call to the ref when a foul or not has been committed? Would only take a few seconds and the mistakes would virtually be eradicated.

i agree entirely, BUT, would football be football with no mistakes and no talking points?

No.

Would it be better?

Yes & no for various reasons. Yes, because big decisions would be correct the majority of the time, But no because I love talking to my dad & mates about penaltys & red cards & controversial decisions, watching match of the day and seeing it from 4 different angles etc. Thats just my view & Im just one football fan.

Matt even by your standards this is pretty f**king stupid.

You weren't even at the game yet you feel you can draw conclusions half way through the first half about how the players gave up after the first goal?

Well the amount of times I've seen this scenario time and time again the chances that happened were pretty high, I wasn't there, I couldn't draw conclusions but going on what I have seen this season again and again what would have changed it?

If the players are "starting to try" or "worrying" now i'm sorry but it's too little too late.

Game has just been on the championship... that is the worst fooking penalty decision i have ever seen in my entire life. Okay so Kisser grabs a bit of his shirt but thats still about 10 yards outside of the area, and then billy sharp just dives onto the floor with Kisnorbo a yard away or so, no visible contact at all. Ludicrous. We have the worst luck of any teams in the whole football league.

:giggle: Heard it here first. I'm waiting for it, from Ollie, the players, some fans.

"The referee killed the game, It was his fault, He got the ball rolling for another embarrassing defeat and performance by our players"

In reality what it means is "The referee gave a early penalty, We got an excuse early in the game which led us to giving up and having an easy afternoon's work"

Would anyone accept bets on this excuse being given after the match? What odds are being given?

(And no i'm obviously not at the game, Infact i'm not even listening to the game on the radio because like the players i've gave up, and don't really give that much of a fuk, I can read Leicester City Football Club like a book, I've not seen the penalty but the fact of the matter and the point i'm making is that the penalty was given in what the 10th minute :dunno: there is still 80 minutes to get back into the game but no we concead a further 2, and have decided to give up, and certain people will still excuse it and blame the referee.)

Decisions do change matches Matt. I thought any idiot could see that. After looking at it again this morning it's clearly not a penalty, poor decsion. I still don't see why the linesman is in a better posistion to give that than the referee is. He's quite simply not.

Yes, we should have responded but we were unlucky with the second and from that point on our heads were gone. Seconjd half we settled down more and did ok, but it was never going to be enough.

Try going to a game like that and not come back bemoaning an awful decsion.

It wasn't a penalty. Kisnorbo got done for pace tried to tug him back outside of the area, their player over ran it and fell over.

Poor decision. :frusty:
