riggyswfc Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 Plan on getting to Leicester in time for the Chelsea v Man Yoo game. We'll be wearing colours, can anyone recommend a decent boozer for away fans with the match that we can go to? Don't mind if it's in town or near the ground, so long as we don't get 'done in' Good luck for Saturday, I'm looking forward to it, but ain't confident...
C-man Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 The Counting House on Freeman's Common is usally alright. I wouldn't go into town wearing colours because we've been gaining a bit of a reputation with regards to trouble recently.

A load of Hull fans were removed by plod from there recently.
Maybes Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 The dry dock(Next to homebase and halfords) is usually ok for away fans aslong at you dont start chanting and just want a quiet pint. 5mins away from the ground. Will be showing the United game aswell.

You must be the brains of the board.
Daggers Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 You must be the brains of the board. I was thinking of a different organ altogether. (C'mon 'Wider - I've set this one up brilliantly for you...)
DBEightyFive Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 You could try The Gateway pub on Gateway Street (LE2 7DP) near the Uni campus just behind the hospital. Always home and away fans in there in colours!

Always home and away fans in there in colours! The Western Hotel on Western Road is ok, away fans are welcome as long as they don't show their colours
Thracian Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 Get yourselves to the Black Lion...mind you more than a car full and your gonna be cramped! LilDave3 reckons they're gonna rename that pub when Dion Dublin retires!
SantiagoFox Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 You must be the brains of the board. I think he or she is a Sheff U fan lurking on here...
Ric Flair Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 Most Wednesday fans who come down on the train will be marched straight in to The Hind I would have thought by the station. If you aren't travelling by train or you can escape the police escort then i'd steer clear of the city centre and look for one of the pubs nearer the ground that are often more welcoming.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 There were quite a few Blackpool fans in the Brickies Arms (Welford Road) wearing colours having a quiet pint. I'd probably go to the Counting House though tbh, just don't get too loud. DON'T park in Morrisons though, you'll get clamped or a ticket. Good luck vs. Naarich
