Cat Burger Posted 7 June 2005 Posted 7 June 2005 My Beat bullying one snapped and I never had any others, the amount of them around now dilutes the message they used to have. My mate even made one himslelf the 'Kirsty (his girlfriend) loves dogging' band

Matt Posted 7 June 2005 Posted 7 June 2005 My Beat bullying one snapped and I never had any others, the amount of them around now dilutes the message they used to have. My mate even made one himslelf the 'Kirsty (his girlfriend) loves dogging' band 120397 Thats true but the people that are wearing them for the reason (Me for one, and i'm sure most people on here too - I hope anyway) know they are wearing them to show support and they themselves know there wearing them for the right reason! I know what your saying - Theres so many around now you don't know who's wearing them for fashion and who's wearing them for the correct reasons, and I suppose that does defeat the object, but who cares the ones who are wearing them for fashion are donating money to needing charity, so there the fools! I have a Racism one which I must admit I don't really wear, But I have never took my LiveStrong one off, and I will be wearing my Make Poverty History band if/when I get one.
Anish Posted 7 June 2005 Posted 7 June 2005 So whos still wearing what bands, I'm still wearing my LiveStrong band, and i'm soon to get a Make Poverty History band. 120374 I still wear my LiveStrong, I stopped wearing my Make Poverty History one after there were reports on them being made in sweat shops. 120384 Oh the irony
C-man Posted 8 June 2005 Posted 8 June 2005 I've stopped wearing my livestrong band now, because its getting ridicoulous how many people i see wearing about 10 bands on each wrist
Tommy Posted 8 June 2005 Posted 8 June 2005 I still wear my Make Poverty History band from Oxfam. Anyone who has seen the advert on here will know how hard hitting it is, and it made me want to help and do something about it. For thos of you who havent seen the advert. Choose The One Called Click
Random Burglar Posted 8 June 2005 Posted 8 June 2005 Not Matt Hampson by any chance was it? I played in a charity rugby match in his honour!! I own the following bands: beat bullying, Livestrong, anti-racism, make poverty history (the cloth one), Charlton Atheletic (my second team all profits go to loacal childrens hospital) , "go for it Matt" (a Charity for a Friend of a Friend who was a promising Rugby player but due to an accident is now in a Weelchair) and this saturday I shall be getting a "singing the blues" wristband (which is fansite for Ipswich fans all procedes go to sponsering an accedemy player)I usually where my Beat bullying because I feel strongly about it and make poverty history one aswell. Charlton one I where on match days (even tho im usually watching Ipswich) I buy the wristbands just to donate to the various charities really. 84925
Cobbo Posted 8 June 2005 Posted 8 June 2005 My beat bullying one hasn't left me wrist since I got it in Jan/Feb.

Katy Posted 8 June 2005 Posted 8 June 2005 isn't it about time there was a leicester one? 120744 Yes, I know West Ham have one amongst others
Louise Posted 8 June 2005 Posted 8 June 2005 I still wear my LiveStrong, I stopped wearing my Make Poverty History one after there were reports on them being made in sweat shops. 120384 http://news.scotsman.com/uk.cfm?id=588782005 Chinese factory workers producing the white rubber bracelets are forced to toil in conditions that violate Chinese law and the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) set up to establish international standards for working conditions. Must be pretty bad then
Anish Posted 8 June 2005 Posted 8 June 2005 isn't it about time there was a leicester one? 120744 There are unofficial ones on Ebay, not that I'd buy one here
connolly19 Posted 8 June 2005 Posted 8 June 2005 I have my anti-bullying one (finally) and a pink Breast Cancer Care one which i will continue to wear - anyone who knows me knows I am not a follower of fashion Incidently was looking on the west ham os (for research purposes to see the exact colours of their kit for an order) and noticed that they were selling claret wristbands - is this something Leicester have looked into? or have we been there done that and I missed it? 84346 Yeah, when I went down to Sunderland, they also brought out a band. The slogan was 'Lighting Up Lives'. It was a nice idea as it was from the SAFC foundation. i would welcome the idea if Leicester bought out a band for charity.
