Jack Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 Leeds, and Manchester City, perhaps.Forest? You're having a laugh... Forest have a massive history, I think that makes them a big club.
Manwell Pablo Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 Leeds, and Manchester City, perhaps.Forest? You're having a laugh... Forest easily match us for fan base and have won more cups/league titles, the only thing we had on them was being in a higher league and never having played in the third tier, both now gone.
Ultra Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 Not as massive as they would like you to believe. Before Clough arrived, they weren't even the biggest club in Nottingham.
Finnegan Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 I really don't buy into the belief that Crowds = Big Club alone. I hate, hate, HATE all this "my club's big" bollocks I really do, I don't care in the slightest. But I wouldn't say attendance is the only measure.
Manwell Pablo Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 Really? ...you think we'll manage more than 17-18 thousand for an average attendance next season? If we do it wont be by much. Plus lets remember that was thier third straight year down there.
Father Ted Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 I was thinking about it today are we the biggest team to ever play in league 1?teams who have never played in this league Arsenal Chelsea Everton Liverpool Manchester United Newcastle United Tottenham Hotspur West Ham United A part from them are there any "big" teams? forest - were good for about 2 years they are hardly big leeds - have never been good they ended up runner up a few times in the 70s so they are not a big club sheffield wednesday - were big 100 years ago so were preston they are no longer big man city - have never been good they lost 8-1 to middlesbrough for crying out load derby - so am i right in thinking we are the biggest team to ever play at this leval? Well, we are preety big but not the biggest!
Mr Happy Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 Would I be right in thinking we'll have the biggest capacity stadium in league1 though? If thats correct then we'll certainly not be high on the average attendence rankings as 16-17,000 is only just half full, so I'd fully expect when we play teams like rochdale and yeovil for an attendence of about 12-14000 if that. On the subject of big clubs, surely attendence alone isnt what makes your club big and even more so being in the 3rd tier of english football certainly doesn't make you a big club!!! If we aren't careful we'll be competeing with Hinkley to see whos the biggest in leicestershire soon
Raj Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 I thought it was a common fact in football that not only will we be the bestetstetstetets ever team in LG1 but we are the bestetstetstettstetst EVER team in the World. EVER. FACT!
