Matt Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 I have a Thompson Speedtouch wireless modem/router, My internet is running fine on it, Fifa and other games on my PS3 are working fine online except GTA online, I know plenty of people have been having trouble online with GTA but I know they are now online or occasionally get online with it, I havn't ever. I e-mailed Playstation and they said it's problem the game makers needed to look into so e-mailed Rockstar and they said I need to open some ports (They supplied me with the ports I needed to open) so I e-mailed Rockstar back and asked how I did this they said I would need to contact the modem/router supplier, which was AOL, I contacted them, they said i'd need to see the game makers or Playstation...I havn't gone back to the game makers or Playstation yet but I have a feeling they'll just push me back to the modem/router suppliers and no-one is going to own up to who's problem it is to sort out. So i'm asking if anyone on here knows how to open ports on modem/routers, and also if I open these ports will it effect my internet connections on my laptop/PC or other Playstation games online? Also has anyone else with a PS3 had problems getting online with GTA and how did they sort it? Thanks
Alexikokopops Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 And while we're at it can someone give me a ballpark figure on how much a wireless router costs these days? Sorry for this minor thread hijack.

A simply Google reveals that: Virgin Media Wireless Broadband Router ... £29.99 - Digidave.co.uk NETGEAR - WIRELESS RANGEMAX MODEM ... £80.37 - Virgin Media Well, that's what normal people have to pay, I guess it's different for Friends of Richard.

Although I can get XL Phone, XL Broadband and XL TV for £10 a month ii) Why search on Google when I can get you to do it?
AoWW Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 pfft, I'm still waiting for kokopopsicle to offer me the bestest broadband deal ever. 5 days after they fooked up and Tiscali still haven't reconnected me.

We quit Tiscali after their shocking service. We got so slow speeds, would definitely reccomend Virgin ADSL or the Cable. I can't get cable in my area so I just have it down the phone line. Still faster than Tiscali, my line can get 8mb which I get in off peak hours but when it comes to tea-time it drops down to 4mb which is faster than what Tiscali gave me.

hairy Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 I know how to open ports. Do you know which ports need opening, what your router IP is and what the password to the router setup might be. This site has guides. Find your router in the list and it will walk you through it
