Especially with the skyline of the city. I remember watching a pre-season exhibition of the Pirates Vs the Mets in 2001 and a Met was the first player to hit a homerun there. Mike Piazza

Mike Piazza Thats right I had the view of the city from my seat, at night looking over the bridge to the sky scrapers, it was beautiful, only downside was I never saw a home run.
Lillehamring Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 i happen to love the game, i was lucky that it broke in england just as i hit my teens, and i was way more into it than footy, used to go to all the panthers games and played for panther youth and the peewee's team. the first game i saw on tv, and i only watched about 20 minutes of it was 49ers v dolphins (which turned out to be superbowl 19), the next season channel 4 bought the rights and showed loads at a sensible time, and the first team i saw playing was the 49ers so i decided to supporte them. although i lost interest for a bit in the 90s... now i try to catch the odd game. oh, and i saw the 49ers against the dolphins at wembley! however, my nan bought me a colts towel (which i still have) so i kinda followed them, the 49ers became like man u, ie they were so good it was nice to follow a crap team... but, now the roles have reversed somewhat, but i'm still a 49ers fan at heart.

Basically rugby with tonnes of pads. yeah, cause rugby players don't wear any padding do they.... the difference is the nature of contact, apart from the odd hit now and again most rugby contact is around the waste or legs, american footbal is face to face, the padding/helmets have been slowly introduced and developed to allow the game to be played with a much more ferocious physicality, also rugby players can't wear pads as this would prevent all the really non-gay groping and embracing during the scrum - i did tackling drills against martin johnson, in full kit, and believe me - it still really hurts!
