C-man Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Wow, a new American fan Welcome I'm a Vikings fan and so is Fez
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Been a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles for a few years now. Got alot of talent and I feel that the 2008 season could well be their year. Still need a decent WR though.
Fox You Forest Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 I love the NFL. My favourite team to watch are the Patriots. However when you get used to losing games with Leicester you have to have a soft spot for the Dolphins.
Finnegan Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 If I'm not mistaken the Red Skins used to be half decent, one something once, and are now basically shit? That sounds like Leicester, I'll go with them. I'm also pretty impressed by the fact they were on some diabolical losing run until one of their guys got shot and they all rallied together and made the play offs. That's pretty Hollywood right there. Also, if we take up playground logic - their kit's pretty nice. Gotta say I know fook all about them, though, like whether they're from DC or Washington state - given that that's opposite sides of the country the difference there's pretty drastic.
AmericanScott Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 I'm not to into American football but i supported the Giants since i was a youngster. Glad to see a major championship in any sport finally return to New York since 2000. I'm more of a baseball guy
lildave3 Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 Don't really like it that much, not the biggest fan. I know of the Patriots, let's go for them. That makes me Patriots, Red Wings and Lakers for the Yanks sports. Glory hunting my way into the USA.
massillonfan Posted 8 June 2008 Author Posted 8 June 2008 Yup, Leicester by choice. A good friend is from Leicester. What is the large building across from the stadium? The one with the blue cars. ???
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 Wow, a new American fan Welcome I'm a Vikings fan and so is Fez Strongly agree.
Guest Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 I could never get into American Football; it's like playing chess with real people. I used to wonder, as a kid, why they called it football. American Egg Chasing, or American Peanut Hugging always seemed more appropriate to me.
DB11 Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 I don't actually think I have heard of any American Football Teams (can't recall any off by heart...) nor do I know the rules of it or anything.
DB11 Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 What is the large building across from the stadium? The one with the blue cars. ???
AmericanScott Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 Yup, Leicester by choice. A good friend is from Leicester. What is the large building across from the stadium? The one with the blue cars. ??? Holiday inn?
Durnerz Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 It's just rugby with Helmets. Agreed. Stopping every few seconds, I about went to sleep watching the Super Bowl and any other American Football game. I've given it a chance but it doesn't do it for me i'm afraid.
AmericanScott Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 Although the games lack tempo at times and get boring, the atmosphere in most stadiums are pretty damn sweet! Especially college football. I've only ever been to see the Giants once and it was quite enjoyable. It's not fun to watch on TV. Highlights are more ideal.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 Denver Broncos. When I started watching gridiron (which is a much better name for it than "foot"ball ) this guy was quarterback. Best scrambling QB ever. When I was watching them in the early 90s they also had something in common with Leicester - most final appearances without a win - same number too, 4. But I haven't really watched a game in years - though I have gone to a couple of Panther games, when they still existed.
purpleronnie Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 Been to see Chicago & Pittsburgh...Really enjoyed it. I'll have to try and watch a Dallas game next season. I was on the bottom tier (on the left) near the end zone, brilliant seats especially as I didnt have to pay!!!! Great atmosphere, amazing stadium:- Pittsburgh was impressive too, but I prefered the Baseball stadium, which is my fave stadium ever:- Heres the pittsburgh NFL one:- My seats were up in the gods. Its weird both stadiums have a capacity of less than Old trafford but look twice the size. Some very 'odd' fans attend these games completely different to what I've seen at MLS matches. One thing is the same though, loads of beer to drink at the stadiums!!!!!!!
Guest seanfox778 Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 I'm a Giants fan (i've been one for years, not a glory hunter) but i'm quite looking forward to seeing the Newquay Sharks play this weekend
