davieG Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 Parkes Stars for England Posted on: Tue 29 Jul 2008 Tom Parkes made his England Under-17s debut in their 1-0 victory over Finland at The Nordic Tournament in Sweden on Monday evening. The Academy centre-half played a full 90 minutes as a sublime chip from Chelsea's Billy Knott proved to be the difference between the two sides. Academy Manager Jon Rudkin (pictured) said: "We are all pleased for Tom and hopefully he will benefit from the experience and continue to progress as a result." England's second group match is against Iceland at 5pm tonight (Tuesday).
Babylon Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 Is he playing tonight? I don't think his work permit has come through.
Vardinhio Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 It's great but seriously don't read too much in to it. He's just a kid and may not develop much further. As I've said Scowcroft played for the u 21s remember

Houdini Logic Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 If you ask me, he looks older than 17 in the OS picture
Moreton Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 If you ask me, he looks older than 17 in the OS picture I assume you're joking but if not it's John Rudkin pictured.
Thracian Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 It's great but seriously don't read too much in to it. He's just a kid and may not develop much further. As I've said Scowcroft played for the u 21s remember And has gone to have a perfectly respectable professional career. Achievement starts with the first steps. Let's give the kid some encouragement cos our kids have been one of the few sources of footballing pride at our club in recent seasons.
mmarkie Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 I don't think his work permit has come through. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
