davieG Posted 11 August 2008 Posted 11 August 2008 I've often thought this would be a good idea.No doubt there will be a large contingent who will throw their arms in the air and protest about the rights of people to bear children. But what about the rights of those unborn children to live a happy life? I'm sure in this money driven world those with money would invariably get the nod whilst those without would have a more difficult job proving their worth. Rich parents aren't always good and poor parents are certainly not always bad.
Guest Posted 12 August 2008 Posted 12 August 2008 I would just like to point out that whilst I would support some kind of pre-parental screening, it would not be based on the ability to provide the ankle biter with what it wants, when it wants. Good parenting cannot be bought. My parents didn't have money to throw around, and thanks to that, we have a better appreciation of money and are not debted to our eyeballs like many of my friends whose parents used to give them whatever they wanted when they wanted. There are many factors that need to be considered, is what I am saying.

My Dad still works, he's 65 in October and he'll be working for the forseeable future. In fact money is only one consideration amongst a host of other factors.

I wasn't suggesting you did I was predicting that in our money driven materialistic society money would be a big driver in the decision making process in spite of people's best intentions. Money talks, always has done always will.
Corky Posted 12 August 2008 Posted 12 August 2008 I don't really care what people think of what I wear. If people don't like it that's their problem, not mine.
Thracian Posted 12 August 2008 Posted 12 August 2008 If it's any consolation, my niece has gone off the idea of the whole cute bunny thing, and from what it has said about this child and family, Monsieur Le Bleu is about on the right track.I honestly believe that parents ought to apply for licences before being allowed to have children. Give it time!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 12 August 2008 Author Posted 12 August 2008 ...but they still won't let me have a gun. It's BONKERS
The People's Hero Posted 12 August 2008 Posted 12 August 2008 What I wear is cool and what everyone else wears is sheeeite.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 12 August 2008 Author Posted 12 August 2008 Yes, I've heard you have your own unique sense of 'style'. Is it befitting of a lighthouse keeper, though?
