davieG Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 Striker come defender Matty McNeil (pictured left) will be absent for Saturday’s League match againstLeicester City at Edgeley Park following his red card during last night's Carling Cup match against the Foxes. McNeil was dismissed after 19 minutes during last night's Carling Cup defeat by the Foxes, after he was sent off by referee Mike Russell for committing a professional foul on Leicester striker Steve Howard. The former Macclesfield player will be forced to serve a one match ban following his red card and he will miss this weekend's League match against Nigel Pearson's side. McNeil's dismissal will now cause manager Jim Gannon a few problems for Saturday's match with Leicester as we will now be short of attacking options as McNeil and Peter Thompson are the only experienced strikers that we have. Gannon had previously indicated that he was looking at bringing a loan signing in to offer back up and so things could move on that front following McNeil's ban.
shiv Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 we need to do well away from home this season cos the teams that come to the walkers will just put 10 men behind the ball
Ric Flair Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 BBC Sport understands that Jim Gannon is to bring in 5 new defenders on loan before saturday's home clash with Leicester. Gaffer Gannon is concerned about the lack of numbers to take out The Foxes right wing wizard Max Gradel. The County boss looked visibly agitated after the clubs 1-0 away defeat in the Carling Cup to Leiceater last night and in the press conference he refused to talk about ' the lad with the blonde mohican '. When pressed on Gradel's performance, he got up and left the room. It appears, bosses are already running scared.
Dr The Singh Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 We need to press home all our advantages, there a striker down and obviously fear Gradel. NP has a great opportunity to show sum tactical ability and use the right side as a attacking force!!

NP has a great opportunity to show sum tactical ability and use the right side as a attacking force!! Leeds seem to have no shortage of goals in them, which is slightly worrying. Though I guess they were playing a League Two side last night...
