Suffolk_fox Posted 14 August 2008 Posted 14 August 2008 The furthest north I have ever lived is Stamford. I now live in Suffolk (surprising I know!) and I have never had a single day out of work since I was old enough to have a job, and I have worked for many companies too. I have never understood people who can't get a job - If I lived in a town where there really were no jobs, I would move - end of!!
James. Posted 14 August 2008 Posted 14 August 2008 Yeah, sorry. You too. We simply cannot have people of a Northern nature dirtying our streets with their filthy, disgusting, backward ways. We’ve spent years keeping you northerners out. We live in a civilized culture. I suggest we erect a giant wall to keep them out. What do you reckon JTB? The only problem there is that they will continue to breed with each other and the gene pool will only expand. One day there may be enough of them to knock down our wall. I think we should sacrifice a few each day, in the name of our God Boris. Or let them fight in ampitheatres for our amusement.
Thracian Posted 14 August 2008 Posted 14 August 2008 I've seen the report. It's more negative than Gary Megson team talk. No wonder David Cameron's embarassed by it - a shoddy, snobbery-ridden work which lets the cat out of the bag on what the Tories REALLY think about areas outside their comfort zone. You shouldn't make the mistake though of saying it's what "the Tories" think, particularly without declaring an interest. . It's simply what a small group of people think. It's rather like you saying all Labour people approve of whatever Gordon Brown does when, in fact, so many these days seem to disapprove. By definition the huge numbers of Tories who live in the North and in the supposedly deprived northern cities, would likely have something less than complimentary to say about the report, if they even bother to read it. I also think casually linking the word snobbery with Tories in general is a bit a political opportunism. Had you simply linked it with the report fair enough but when you use the term as a link with Tories generally that just seems like a bit of instinctive spin. Of course there are Tory snobs. But there are no fewer socialist snobs and social climbers from what I can see and I've not much time for any of them. I would doubt the report represents the views of many people at all, Tories or otherwise.
The People's Hero Posted 14 August 2008 Posted 14 August 2008 A settlement since the iron ages which refuses to move on much past it's (arguable) medieval hey-day. A city (yes, it has a Cathedral AND - a castle) where a bunch of Jews once killed a Christian boy or something (medieval folklore - love it). Wikipedia has the main point of interest as being that a railway intersects the high street, cutting off any traffic for 40 minutes in every hour. This prevents the locals from being able to go about shopping and Christian-killing in a timely and efficient manner.

There's nothing I like more than seeing Dumb and Dumber turn their attention from football (which they know nothing about) to demographics, geography and politics (which they are now proving they know nothing about). What next chaps - how about a piece on badger baiting?

The People's Hero Posted 14 August 2008 Posted 14 August 2008 Nadler's mouth looks a little horizontavaginic?
Tabou Posted 14 August 2008 Posted 14 August 2008 Nadler's mouth looks a little horizontavaginic? Although Nadler needs a trim. Dirty Slut.
Tabou Posted 14 August 2008 Posted 14 August 2008 Leave Nadler alone Nadler can take it. He is menacing. He is not allowed to travel to some Baltic States for fear of being arrested on war crimes. That's what I heard.

I 'used' to have a cuddly toy teddy bear moneky thing called Bernard. That is the French pronunciation of Bernard. "Bernaaaard". He looked just like Cedric. Fond memories of that little scamp.
