I enjoy these. Although the link's not working for me at the minute.

The server at www.foxes-online.co.uk is taking too long to respond.

It's fine on my computer - I'll just post it here:

Leicester stretched their unbeaten run to four games with an unconvincing 3-1 victory over Tranmere Rovers.

Howard’s opener was followed by another brace for Fryatt to move City up to second in the league.

Pearson made just one change to the line up that secured a draw at Stockport the previous week – in came Porter for the injured Tunchev, with Dyer replacing the Bulgarian at left back.

The first half was a drab affair with City struggling to retain the ball and posing little threat for a determined Tranmere outfit.

Despite this, City did make a welcome breakthrough just after the half hour.

City won a free kick on the edge of the box, which was taken quickly by Dyer, who fed Oakley on the right side of the area to cross in low for Howard to poach home from close range.

It was a clever goal that demonstrated quick thinking on City’s behalf as bewildered Tranmere players looked completely unprepared.

The second half did see matters improve performance wise, though it was still fairly patchy at times.

Fryatt added a second for City on 57 minutes with a well-taken goal.

Gradel was hacked down on the left in line with the box and the same player curled in a well-executed free kick that allowed Fryatt to nod home at the near post.

City seemed comfortable from then on, but Tranmere grabbed one back with 10 minutes to go to apply some pressure on a young City side.

The ball was played up to Greenacre on the right, who seemed to control the ball with his hand and with City appealing, the nippy striker escaped past Dyer to cross for Shuker at the far post to slam home past Martin.

The cross had taken a deflection of Hobbs, though City seemed to have stopped in the build up after firstly claiming a handball against Greenacre and then the linesman waving for a foul on the same player.

Fortunately for City, they wrapped up the game in injury time through a scrappy third goal by Fryatt.

Substitute Adams picked up the ball from a poor kick from former City keeper Coyne and after exchanging passes with Oakley, his curling left footed effort ballooned off a Tranmere defender.

The resulting block was headed away only for Howard to plant a looping header on to the cross bar with Fryatt being the beneficiary of the rebound as he headed his second past the keeper and three Tranmere players on the line.

Comment:

So far so good for City – seven points from three games and unbeaten in four – most would have taken that before the start of the season.

While the performance wasn’t up to scratch, at least City did enough to secure the three points.

It was almost the opposite of what we saw at Stockport last week – on that occasion a good performance didn’t result in a win.

Encouragingly, despite City being patchy at times, Tranmere didn’t create much of note in the final third.

Tranmere’s goal was a poor one to concede, but at least City responded with a third to wrap up the win.

Fryatt and Howard continue to gain strength as a striking partnership, which has been alien to a City over the past couple of years.

Though the two players may lack pace, their understanding and clever play causes them to unsettle the opposition, which is further complemented by having pace on the flanks.

It’s still early days, but Pearson can be pleased with the start made by his young City side.

I do enjoy reading these, as well. However, it'd help if you wouldn't spread it out that much (I know, sounds a bit odd, eh?). Try bundling a couple of these sentences to nice paragraphs and you got yourself a real winner.

Looking forward to reading more of your exquisit and well-put reports.

It's something I'm used to after a year of studying journalism. I know what you mean though and thanks for the feedback.
