Bert Posted 6 September 2008 Posted 6 September 2008 Big Headed? More toward the end of the interview.
LeeCovFox Posted 6 September 2008 Posted 6 September 2008 I can see why you would think that, but I think it's more a case of him being frustrated. He is right, he, more often than many others has been a difference maker for England, yet he isn't a first choice? One of the few England players I have a little respect for.
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 He's correct in everything he's said there.
Anish Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 He's correct in everything he's said there. Exactly. It's scandalous that the likes of Downing and Walcott are selected ahead of Joe Cole for England. He is our most creative player, scores goals and attacks defenders like nobody else in the squad. Just because he doesn't track back as much as others it shouldn't stop him from being a first XI player. Capello's decision to exclude Owen, play the likes of Downing and not Cole, leave me baffled.
Corky Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 He is our most fluent player, and at the moment our best. I don't like the fact that he continues to play well for England and still is not selected to start.
Bert Posted 7 September 2008 Author Posted 7 September 2008 I agree with him too, but i thought he was being big headed. Capello was pissed off with Cole yesterday.
DB11 Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 Super sub. He may not be effective starting so why change?
dandannieldanok Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 Super sub. He may not be effective starting so why change? So you would play a completely ineffective player like Downing for at least 45 minutes just so Joe Cole can come on as a sub and make an impact.
DB11 Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 So you would play a completely ineffective player like Downing for at least 45 minutes just so Joe Cole can come on as a sub and make an impact. Downing is good on Football Manager, anyway
Father Ted Posted 7 September 2008 Posted 7 September 2008 Well, why shouldn't he be big-headed when Stewart 'I'm so crap' Downing gets picked ahead of him, Cole comes on for him and wins the match for England! He's proved a big point.
