Steven Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 It would seem that according to Fifa, a fine of £15,000 is sufficient punishment for the Croatia Football Federation as a consequence of fans' racist behaviour against England. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/i...als/7635854.stm A statement from Fifa said: "Racism has no place in football. "Fifa is determined to continue broadcasting this message around the globe and deploying all of the means at its disposal to eliminate this form of discrimination." Yea right. Perhaps we could pay £15,000 and racially abuse Sepp Blatter and see how he likes it.
Steven Posted 25 September 2008 Author Posted 25 September 2008 I'm surprised you're shocked by this. I am incredulous and disappointed. Sadly I am not shocked.
dandannieldanok Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 Unsurprising decision, it is a pittance for a majorly developing Football Association like Croatia. They may as well have not bothered.
Ashley Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 If it was us who was racial chanting we'd probably be chucked out the whole Tournement.
andyh1884 Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 If it was us who was racial chanting we'd probably be chucked out the whole Tournement. We didn't after the racist chanting to the Turks when we played them at Sunderland (I think), just a fine from memory. Until they start making teams play behind closed doors/dock qualification points/disqualify them from tournaments this sort of thing will continue to happen, and even that threat probably wouldn't stop some fans from doing it.

Corky Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 I'm not in the least bit surprised. £15,000 will obviously make them stop won't it?
Darkzzz_ Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 I am not shocked. But I can safely say that if it was the other way round it would be a huge fine. I hate Fifa. Morons.

Brainy Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 £15,000 fine for racism, £25,000 fine for Man Utd's seven yellow cards? Wtf?
