Everton V Liverpool

Mike Riley proved once again that he's well past his sell-by date as a referee.

In fact, I'm not sure he ever had one. How the hell did he ever reach international standard?

Good finishes from Torres, poor challenge from Cahill. Silly boy.

On a related note, did anybody else happen to see the lad sat in the Everton end wearing a Liverpool shirt in this "highly passionate" and "intense" derby game??

It's always been called the 'friendly derby' and I think they do away with segregation for this clash.

Did last year anyway.

Yes lildave, I'm well aware of that, hence the " " marks on certain parts of the post.:P

Just seems entirely bizarre for a derby that there'd be somebody in the home end wearing the shirt of their main rivals and an eyebrow wouldn't be raised, that's all.

More of the family derby than a 'friendly' derby. Families are torn arent they between Everton and Liverpool and they can get away with sitting in the other teams end.

You see more Liverpool fans in the home end at Goodison than you will Evertonians at Anfiled, thats the weird thing.

Is a good derby though.

You don't have to hate the other team to create an atmosphere you just need to want your team to win.

Just to say when I first started going to Filbert St there was no segregation and it was some of the best atmosphere I've ever witnessed but then the rivalry was just football based and there was none of this 'nasty' baiting of the away support. Humour and entertainment were the order of the day.

Didn't think cahill deserved the red, seen much worse this season already. The ref in the Utd vs Bolton game should have sent himself off for that shocking decision lol
