Jay Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 Now I know he's a criminal and all and has probably done loads of jobs but... The car had been left by Avon and Somerset Police officers with a covert camera concealed inside, which took pictures of Evans. is this not entrapment? I imagine you could argue he would have done it anyway and obviously I am not condoning his actions but should the police really be spending their time to capture opportunist thieves by setting them up in this way?

Nope this is a Honey Trap! Entrapment is when, say a Police officer would suggest to a thief "Let's go and steal X or Y!" The idea actually being the authority's, but a Honey Trap no-one coerces the thief to act... they just do... Or so I understand it!

Dictionary.com states for Entrapment.. the luring by a law-enforcement agent of a person into committing a crime. I imagine parking a car and leaving valuables on show mobile phone, Sat Nav Stereo and so on could fall into this bracket!! either way this bloke was obviously a scrote and at least he wont be breaking into my car now so good result in the end
AmericanScott Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 Who ever gets their name and DOB tattooed on their neck or anywhere on their body is a complete loser.

Honest people wouldnt try and rob a car would they? Blokes a nob for having his name and DOB tatooed on his neck anyway. Pissant.
lookwhaticando Posted 8 October 2008 Posted 8 October 2008 I thought this was going to be a joke about Gordon Brown and all his taxes. The car was there, with valuables inside... it could've been left there by anyone. He happened to choose that car because of what he saw... he didn't choose that car because somebody (police officer) suggested he should. If there was another car he came by first that had similar gear inside, he could've easily hit that one instead.
