davieG Posted 9 October 2008 Posted 9 October 2008 Meet The Manager Evening Posted on: Thu 09 Oct 2008 Leicester City season ticket holders will be able to put their questions to manager Nigel Pearson and his backroom team at a special 'Meet The Manager Evening' on Thursday, October 23 (7pm). Foxes fans will be able to get the lowdown on the club's excellent start to the campaign on the night - with assistant managers Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh also in attendance. The event will take place in the club's Great Hall facility at the Walkers Stadium, with a bar available for refreshments Places are limited to one per season ticket holder on a first come, first served basis - so please contact the LCFC ticket office at the earliest opportunity to secure your seat. Tickets are available FREE OF CHARGE. To book your place either email [email protected] or visit the Walkers Stadium ticket office in person. Don't forget to include your client reference number in any communication. A limited number of tickets have also been distributed to the various City supporter groups. The event takes place during the half-term school holiday, with children welcome to attend if accompanied by an adult. It is anticipated that the event will run for approximately one hour. Or does this negate the benefit A limited number of tickets have also been distributed to the various City supporter groups.
Guest Posted 9 October 2008 Posted 9 October 2008 Sounds interesting. If I weren't on holiday in Ireland I'd be up for this
SamL Posted 9 October 2008 Posted 9 October 2008 Personally, I don't think it is. Again, the people who live outside of Leicester have got to make a special effort to travel into Leicester for it. So therefore, not everybody is going to feel the benefit. When I first heard about the 'Season Ticket benefits', I thought we would be getting free merchandise or a free ticket, or something.
Munzie Posted 9 October 2008 Posted 9 October 2008 It's something! More than can be said over the last few months. Maybe they are listening Like I have said in previous posts, these benefits won't be to everyones taste. A chance to put questions to Pearson, up close and personal, will appeal to some however. It's a start. Only another 3 more to go and we'll have caught up for the year!! Let's hope they vary the offers. Having two double discount sales over weekends without a game is out of order. Poor Nige won't want to face the fans every month either.

But if they are offering a 'limited number' to the Foxes Trust and Supporters Clubs, meaning they will go to non-ST holders then it's not exclusive.
Munzie Posted 9 October 2008 Posted 9 October 2008 But if they are offering a 'limited number' to the Foxes Trust and Supporters Clubs, meaning they will go to non-ST holders then it's not exclusive. You're right, however, how many match tickets are allocated to corporate clients, charities, trusts, and promotions at reduced costs (or even free)? It's part of running a business. Although I don't always agree with it, trusts and supporters clubs will always be looked after by such businesses as LCFC. Personally, I will not be attending the offer given that it doesn't suit my requirements; too far to travel after work just for the chance to ask one maybe two questions. That said, I wouldn't begrudge anyone going as some will see the chance to meet the manager of the club they love as a 'one off, not to be missed oppertunity'. I do think that its time marketing/supporter relations worked more closely with the fans in order to offer benefits that are truly wanted. The offer of this and another sale at the club shop seem a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to p*ssed-off supporters expecting bigger and better things. This should be a lesson to the club on how marketing an initial good idea without thought or planning and preparation can go horribly wrong.
Daggers Posted 9 October 2008 Posted 9 October 2008 Or does this negate the benefit 12,000-odd season ticket holders - 50 tickets (or something pretty daft) available? Brilliant.
Shrenchel Posted 9 October 2008 Posted 9 October 2008 No offence boys but what sort of things were you expecting?! Free match tickets for all your friends and family? a blowjob from Peter Jones? I think a Q&A with the manager is pretty decent. Granted there's a limited number of places but short of opening up the east stand for the night and have NP shout anecdotes from the centre circle, there's not really much they can do about that.

Maybe they should have thought about it before using such as scheme to 'hoodwink' ST with their list of ST benefits. And no free tickets for ST holders is not a benefit.

Free tickets aren't a benefit?! What ideas for financially viable benefits that they can give to over 10,000 people do you have then?
davieG Posted 9 October 2008 Author Posted 9 October 2008 Free tickets aren't a benefit?!What ideas for financially viable benefits that they can give to over 10,000 people do you have then? Giving free tickets to people that already have tickets strikes me as an odd benefit unless I can sell it to some one, usually I just give them away. As for ideas - well it was their idea so they should have thought about that before making the offer to do otherwise is as I've said dishonest. At the moment their making them up after the event.

davieG Posted 9 October 2008 Author Posted 9 October 2008 surely you can use the other seat to keep your flask and blanket on The last time I went with someone who had a flask it was confiscated and never returned even though it was promised it would be somehow during the 90 minutes of the game the stewards 'lost' it.

It's not healthy for anyone to get so worked up about the fact a monthly benefit isn't quite as good as you thought it was going to be.
Zingari Posted 9 October 2008 Posted 9 October 2008 ask not what benefits you can get for being a ST holder , rather what benefits you can do for the club ie stop fookin moaning

It's not healthy for anyone to get so worked up about the fact a monthly benefit isn't quite as good as you thought it was going to be. I don't need to go down the pub as I'm not worked up about it, you asked the questions I responded. To be honest I'd probably not take up many, if any of them anyway but you like the club are entirely missing the point I'll say it one more time - Integrity and honesty with the fans - this is an alien concept to those running LCFC. They're akin to the market stall holder who puts all their good produce on the front and then palms you off with the rotten stuff from the back.

Austin Posted 9 October 2008 Posted 9 October 2008 This is not a benefit. Its quite shit if we're all honest. <_< Give us some freebies
ThorpeAstleyFox Posted 9 October 2008 Posted 9 October 2008 Sorry to voice an unpopular opinion but I think that this is an excellent benefit and can't wait to go. In the past I have paid £10+ to go to similar Q&A sessions with previous managers. To my mind this is exactly the kind of STH benefit that I like to see as it doesn't involve spending yet more money on things that I don't want.
Tevez Posted 9 October 2008 Posted 9 October 2008 I'm chuffed with this tbh! I've asked for a ticket and Ched has (I think)
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 9 October 2008 Posted 9 October 2008 The event will take place in the club's Great Hall facility at the Walkers Stadium, with a bar available for refreshments If it's a FREE BAR, then yes it does count - but it's not that likely is it! Places are limited to one per season ticket holder on a first come, first served basis - so please contact the LCFC ticket office at the earliest opportunity to secure your seat. Tickets are available FREE OF CHARGE. Ok one ticket per ST holder - so how does below work??? (I assume the child has to be a ST holder too?) The event takes place during the half-term school holiday, with children welcome to attend if accompanied by an adult.
Foxes_Trust Posted 9 October 2008 Posted 9 October 2008 But if they are offering a 'limited number' to the Foxes Trust and Supporters Clubs, meaning they will go to non-ST holders then it's not exclusive. Would expect the vast majority of FT members that will attend will be ST holders anyway
