davieG Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Leicester City are offering their Season Ticket Holders the option to purchase tickets at a reduced rate for family and friends for their forthcoming fixtures in November against Yeovil Town and Crewe Alexandra. Both games - the Yeovil match being the Leicester City and Topps Tiles Supporting Help for Heroes Fixture - are vitally important to City's push for promotion and the club are keen to attract as many Foxes fans as possible to provide Nigel Pearson and his team with as much support on the two dates. Season Ticket Holders will be able to purchase additional tickets on behalf of friends and family for just £10 for Adults and £5 for Under-16s for either of these games. A City spokesman said: "Support so far this season has been incredible. Our home attendances have been ahead of target for every game at the Walkers Stadium and our travelling support has been simply unbelievable. "However, we cannot ignore what is going on at the moment. The economic climate is a challenge to everyone, and as a club we need to actively look at ways to drive our support to help Nigel and his squad. "Our Season Ticket Holders have already committed themselves to the campaign and the club can not thank them enough for their continued support. "Over the course of the season, they will always receive the best deal financially, that is guaranteed. "However, we need to call on their support again for these two particular games, but this time as ambassadors for the club, by introducing additional friends and family to help us continue our promotion challenge."

Simi Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 I'd love to partake in this offer, but my friend/family member would not be able to sit with me because I am a naughty boy from L1.
davieG Posted 24 October 2008 Author Posted 24 October 2008 So now we are expected to sell tickets for them. If you think times are hard and you want more people in the ground reduce the match day ticket prices.
davieG Posted 24 October 2008 Author Posted 24 October 2008 I find that hard to believe, especially the last attendance. I guess the key word is target and at £23 a throw on Tuesday Champions League night I'd be surprised if they were expecting more - on second thoughts I wouldn't be surprised.
Munzie Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Clever bit of marketing given both games are scheduled for Tuesdays. If City put on a good performance, this coupled with their new offer of 2nd half season tickets could see extra revenue being generated.

RowlattsFox Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 The Walsall game should have been an offer game, especially considering its half term. Kids for a quid or something.

I have doubts it this make any impact on the attendance, if a non ST holder asks me to get them one i will but otherwise I'm not going out of my way to solicit people and then have to go through the expected rigmarole of buying them. Based on previous deals like this and others and on current home form I'm not expecting a good performance as we generally fook them up with a big freebie crowd in attendance.
Munzie Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Very true, £23 is a joke in League One. Wait til we get to the Premiership. It's costing me £140 to take my son to see Arsenal V Man U for his birthday treat! Note: (Before anyone asks) I've not yet beat it out of him that he is just being led by his school mates in following such a team.

Although the marketing department have to justify their existence now and then. Trying to solicit my non supporting mates out of their warm homes on a dark, cold Tueday evening will take more than a cheap ticket. Chalk up another non-exciting benefit!

The People's Hero Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 Just get the Foxy Ladies back. Not the original ones though. Get Jess and Sian to do it. Yes. I went there.
Munzie Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 I wouldn't go that far I would love to be turned on by an exciting monthly benefit, but they are as sexy as Kerry Katona in a g-string.
Corky Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 I would love to be turned on by an exciting monthly benefit, but they are as sexy as Kerry Katona in a g-string. Phwoar!
davieG Posted 10 November 2008 Author Posted 10 November 2008 Me me me me me me me !! And! If they 'sell' it as a 'ST benefit' then it seems logical that it should benefit ST holders as ST holder that includes me otherwise what is the point. Maybe if they were honest about it and said we need to boost the gate and the revenue can you as ST holders help us I'd be a lot more sympathetic to the cause, less cynical and have no thoughts of me!
