Kisnorbo overrated ?

Fook me I can't believe what I'm reading . I thought most on here thought Kisnorbo was the best thing since sliced bread :crylaugh: . The guy is balls, has been for as long as I can remember, get rid in January.

Morrison is the answer :scarf: .

I had my doubts about Kisnorbo coming back into the team and I think they have been completely justified.

His mentality is still the same from last season when we got relegated. Aimless passing and just falling around like a mad man with no real composure. I thought we looked a lot more solid with Hobbs and Tunchev. Hobbs was a better passer of the ball and seemed to calm things down when under pressure. Kisnorbo at the moment is far to eratic, plus he will more than likely go in the winter anyway, so why disturb the backline later?

Ahem.Ahem.Ahem.

I wouldn't sell him, and I'm not sure getting rid of players after a few poor performances is conducive to a good team. Kisnorbo has proved over the last 2 seasons he is a decent defender and should certainly feature in our plans. I'm not saying he should always be in the starting 11 every game, but I certainly wouldn't want him to leave.

It didn't help that Kisnorbo was rushed back in indecent haste, with very few preparatory games when there was absolutely no need. I don't suppose it did the morale of previous regulars any good either, especially as we'd lost just once and had hardly conceded any goals.

It had the effect of disturbing a functioning defence and with Gilbert injured too and Mattock ready to return we suddenly had changes galore in defence - with inevitable results.

Why the great haste? Money of course. His value had plunged with his injury but a fit and first team Kisnorbo is worth something in the transfer market. Whether Pearson wanted his swift return or Mandaric I doubt we'll ever know. Mattock is another potential transfer target who has been fast-tracked back into the side when, again, there was no need for such haste.

It's not just the lack of a reserve team either. First teamers no longer have a few reserve games to prepare for the cut and thrust of first team football. They go virtually straight in at the deep end and I wonder if it'll be thought worth it if it costs us our momentum and we stay down by a point or two.

Kisnorbo started his City career in the Reserves and I remember wondering on day one what all the fuss was about. He was clearly an athlete. Spirited, determined, tireless and sound as a defender.

But he didn't stand out and even then it was clear he was no great passer. Watching his technique, I'm not surprised and as someone else has said, I don't see him changing.

Kisnorbo will be signed by some for his spirit and defensive qualities alone but if we want to be a relevent club again we've got to base our plans around attack and an ability to keep the ball. That means having people right through the team who are comfortable passing the ball.

For that reason I'd build my team around Tunchev and I would not compromise for any reason or anyone.

One draw at home and I've read nothing but strange comments.

To be honest, the main problem here is the bit in bold...

I'm not sure why you don't feel the same for Fryatt, he was much more at fault than Kisnorbo.

Yes?

I said it was unfair for you to critisise him when you hadn't been to the games your point was regarding!

Make your mind up! I said from the start I knew something was up with him.

No one agreed with me, but now suddenly everyone has realised.

You say you had your doubts about Kisnorbo coming back into the team, but then said my comment was strange regarding Kisnorbo back in the team.

If you had your doubts about it yourself Ched then why say it was a strange comment <_<

It's just that he's just said he had his doubts from the start about him coming back into the team. And then says it was a strange comment about me saying he shouldn't come back into the team.

It doesn't take brain of britain to work it out, we have been shit since he has come back.

He thinks he is better than this club, and if he does then let him leave. We need players here who want to prove a point and do well at the club, Morrison and Tunchev or even Hobbs at centre back were playing a lot better than Kisnorbo is now and we were winning games with them. He has done nothing but walk back into the team as soon as he is back to fitness, the others must wonder what they have done wrong tbh.

He doesn't want to be here either, loan him out.

Why have you both translated a couple of poor performances into him wanting to leave the club? It's just a complete fabrication unless he's actually been quoted to say "I want to leave". Apart from Tunchev and maybe Dyer, practically all our players have dropped in at least one or two poor performances this season. Kisnorbo like the rest of the squad is hardly flawless and is prone to a dodgy game or two, people seem to forget he's just come back from a terrible injury.

I wasn't sticking up for Kisnorbo really though, more finding it strange you challenged his performances having not been to the games.

I don't no for sure but i wouldn't be surprised if he thought he was better than this club and wanted to leave.

I would probably think the same.

He was linked with over £1million moves to Fulham and other prem clubs a few seasons back and was playing in the championship and hoping to get to the prem.

Now he has most likely had a wage drop and finds himself at a club who are struggling to get in the automatic promotion places at a 3rd tier club in english football.

It seems he has distrupted the team in some way, but hopefully he can prove me wrong and do well at the club. I have no doubts he is a good player, but maybe just needs to be talked with to see he is happy here and stop him doing long ball after long ball.

And don't forget he is out of contract in the summer, so why don't we offer him a new contract now?

If he says no then he can rot in the reserves. Why play a player who wants to leave?

Watching games on the radio gives you a better understanding of players than going to games.

Well that's a very fancy radio.

HE did manage a couple of decent passes a few games ago, but is back to the norm of last seasons garbage.

He reminds me of Dad's Army character Corporal Jones - "Don't panic, don't panic!" (whilst falling over backwards and slicing the ball away).

Kisnorbo is no different to last season, so why are people only now deciding he's not so fantasic after all  ?

Kisnorbo, Oakley and Howard cannot all be in the same team on that form IMO.

Last night, Kisnorbo was like a cruise missile launcher on auto-fire whenever he looked up and spotted Howard 50 yards away. It does not work.

When the game is going against us, we need someone in central midfield who is in their faces. Oakley's not interested if he hasn't got space to trot around like a show-pony.

We're in danger of heading back to the same problems of the last few years, with untouchable experienced players who aren't offering us enough. Howard is good in the air and poses a physical threat and all that, I understand people like him, but we just don't seem to play well as a team when he is there and I don't think his qualities are particularly effective.

So far this season, Tunchev has made Kisnorbo look like an average lower-league player, King has outperformed Oakley and Fryatt looks far more of a goalscoring threat than Howard.

Time for these three to prove themselves all over again.

Fans wanting trips to Wembley and fighting promotion > Team that missed out on relegation and eventually got relegation.

The rest speaks for itself!!!

And thats league only.

Bring back the morrison/tunchev/hobbs partnerships, with tunchev the backbone. Either of the other on the bench.

Kisnorbos return has only seemed to unsettle a side that looked pretty solid.

Dont get me wrong a defence cant wholly be blamed for letting goals in. But they go a long way towards it.

Our worry is now that we are shipping goals and that confidence in front of goal has slightly eluded us of recent weeks.

Especially at home, that crisp bowl has a lot to answer for. I fear for our home record this season as we do (except the paint pot cup last night) play as a different side away from home. I dont know if its the expectancy of the crowd that transfers to the players giving them the fear of failure but i do hope that come May we're out of this poxy division and able to consolidate back into the Championship once again. As everybody does!!!!!

Come on you Foxes, get your claws in!!!!

Up the City!!!

Some good points there cockle :chant:
