I pay for your hats.

I pay for your ha-a-a-a-a-ats...

You're currently paying for this free can of coke I'm supping. I had some good free peanut butter on toast this morning too. Think I'm gonna grab some free fruit and a free cup of tea before I go home. That's after I've watched a bit more TV while I work.

Sound - what do you actually do at Virgin?

Drink coke, eat peanut butter & fruit while watching TV from the make of it.

Sounds too close to multitasking to be true

I think that pretty much sums it up. We have a Wii in the other office (which I will be exploiting on Friday).

Anyway, there's a big drive starting soon to push Virgin Media's beyond cable products. On the 19th they're launching new 16mb broadband for those in non-cable areas and renaming it Virgin Media National (rather than just Beyond Cable).

Mobile broadband is the way forward. Just plug in and go. I have to use this though as I have got rid of my money sucking landline. Good for laptops anyway. My mum has had major trouble with Tiscali and we've had bother with BT, they're all cvnts if you ask me. 3 mobile broadband is fine overall for everything I need to do online.

Will Virgin Media please stop putting leaflets through my letterbox telling me to use their service, when we live somewhere it is impossible to get Virgin Media?

Think of the trees!!

You can, they provide stuff nationally (not just in cable areas)

We were told they couldn't.

We were told Sky is the only option. :ermm:

We were told we could get the telephone but not the TV or internet. If you look on their website and put you postcode in they can tell you what you can get as we obviously don't live in a cable area either.

We did, ages ago, and we couldn't get anything.

Are you sure that wasn't just TV, phone and broadband using their fibre-optic cables? Because they do offer broadband and phone using them copper wires just like Sky/BT if you don't live in cabled areas. Not sure about TV though. Anyway, this is all going to become a lot clearer on the 19th (see my post above)

Last time I looked was ages ago, to be fair. The broadband is just the same as every other broadband package that piggy backs off of BT now, so we can now get Virgin broadband. Yippee!

I don't think we'd get the same as sky tv through Virgin because there is no fibre optic in our area, our broadband isn't sky anyway so it isn't all that imo (unless Virgin now have a new way of getting TV into your home).

I know all that. The point I was originally trying to make was that we don't need three leaflets at a time advertising services we aren't able to have! Now it's turned into a "let's make Lisa look even more stupid than she is" farce. What have I done to upset people so much?

You seen the Mailing Preference Service? It gets rid of all your junk mail woes like the mad eejits in marketing who send cable leaflets to beyond-cable areas.

Anyway, if you are thinking of getting Virgin Media broadband (this is aimed at anyone reading this thread) then get a bundle. It costs £36 a month for 20meg broadband (you'd still have to pay BT line rental if you have a phone, but you don't need a phoneline for Virgin cable broadband), or you can get 20meg broadband with a phone line with free weekend calls to other landlines (and including line rental) for £31 a month. Ridiculous

Done that; these are unaddressed leaflets etc.

If its the postie delivering it as it often is then you can ask them to stop.

Some postie last year got all of his round to ask to stop so he wouldn't have to carry the leaflets. He got the sack in the end.

We never seem to have the same postie, to be fair!!

Today's is in my bad books; he decided to throw a parcel over the back fence, but in doing so, has damaged the contents.

Am I right in thinking that now Virgin and Sky have settled their tiff we can have Sky Sports News back on Virgin?:dunno:

Yep. Sky 3, Sky News and Sky Sports news will be available on all packages, Sky 1 and Sky 2 on L and XL packages, and Sky Real Lives 1 and 2 and Sky Art 1 and 2 on the XL package. That happens on the 13th of November.

It has been a particularly wonderful day.
