Maybes Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 Fancy going a game on saturday that isn't at the walkers. Need some inspiration ....
syston_fox Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 Nothing really stands out from the fixture list to be honest.... Chesterfield v Mansfield?
Fosse Boy Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 Colchester v Orient. That's where I'm going. Two teams with a mutual hatred of Southend, wonder how that'll play out...
Floating Fox Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 Eastwood Vs Brackley 1st round of Fa Cup. I've asked a few mates to come. Not sure about it still. Tempted by Kettering vs Lincoln (thought you would be going to this Chris?) as well. If all else fails, Coalville will do. Still better than Leicester!

lildave3 Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 Why would I be at Kettering v Lincoln? I'll be at the Walkers like the cool kid that I am! Normal seat, or back of SK1? Come visit me so you can send me that video.

CosbehFox Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 I am considering Kettering tomorrow if the rain holds away. Rockingham Road will be rocking. If anyone really wants to travel a bit further, Chesterfield v Mansfield is the pick. Local notts derby and probably the last time these two will meet at Saltergate* * The FL's second worst ground.
CosbehFox Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 Behave. It's the only time I have had to endure an open-air toilet and if you were at the bottom of the hill, you had Nottingham urine on your shoes. If you don't get there earlier enough either, you just see players boots all game due to the raised pitch.

CosbehFox Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 Ok I've never been, Didn't think It was quite that bad... On terms of 'back in the old day's, it scores highly. Not so much on the facilities bit. Watched Chesterfield-Brighton there ages back...left at half-time due to a delayed kick-off. Been two Brighton games as a neutral - kicked off at both of them. They even had a flare at London Road, well 2 or 3 in the end.

I've heard that's all out war. Doesn't that rivalry have roots in the miners' strike? Mansfield fans went back to work while Chesterfield fans stayed on strike? Something like that...

Floating Fox Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 Get Ched to come, he will love it. He's yet to catch the non-league bug I reckon he's going to the cinema like a big girl anyway
