Father Ted Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 I actually agree with Dickov. Fryatt definitely has the potential there but confidence has always been his downfall, he's too nice to play in the Prem, he needs to get cockier.

Father Ted Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 And how would that help him? When he plays he's shy and timid - he needs to roughen up and be a little cocky shit to play against just like Dickov was under Micky Adams.

He hasn't really got the attributes to be cocky though. I'd say Fryatt plays a fairly simple game generally (apart from holding onto the ball for too long).

He should be more fooking ruthless in one-on-one situations, and not missing open goals might help as well.
Thracian Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Veteran Leicester City striker Paul Dickov thinks that top scorer Matt Fryatt has the attributes to play at the top level. Fryatt, 22, who joined City from Walsall in 2006, has scored 14 goals for the Foxes this season. Dickov told BBC Radio Leicester: "I think Matty could go all the way, he's quick, he's strong, he's got a great eye for goal. "I told him I think he might have 20 goals by Christmas." Leicester go to Swindon on Saturday aiming to stay top of the table. Dickov, who played in the Premier League with Manchester City, Blackburn and the Foxes, added: "He deserves it [recent praise], he's worked hard, his finishing has been excellent." Nigel Pearson's men have moved back to the top of League One with a home win over Yeovil on Tuesday. And 36-year-old Dickov admits getting back into the side after injury is going to be tough: "I've just got to make sure I'm ready, get my chance and take it." Perhaps Milan's asked Dickov to talk his value up and a bid of Akinbiyi proportions can be expected anytime soon, thus giving Dickov the chance of some starts.
DanTheFox07 Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 He was sh*t in the championship so hes going to be no good in the prem. Well he has never been as fit or been played in the right position until now! Who are you to say he couldn`t score in the prem! nice to see supporters have faith in our players to back ability!

Aeropars Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Come on though... I'd say Fryatt has a big say in the goals he's scored and hardly any are gifted on a plate (although he misses the ones that are ). As our team improves i think he will. Since he arrived hes always fed on scraps. I dont beleive our problems started with strikers. I beleive it was the midfield not creating chances. Time after time i sat there counting on one hand how many chances we created through a match. I'm not expecting him to acheive what dikov says but why cant he? He's young... still learnign in many ways and with better service i think he can do well. At what level only god knows but i beleive we havent seen the best of him yet.
lcfc_jme Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 All I can think of here is " ". Fryatt in the Premiership. Fantastic! How anybody can view him as quick is just plain ridiculous. My nan has more pace than Fryatt. There's no doubt he's good at this level, but at a higher level he'd be found out easily, struggle with his lack of pace and certainly not get away with the amount of guilt-edged and seemingly unmissable chances he cocks up.
