davieG Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 Veteran Leicester City striker Paul Dickov thinks that top scorer Matt Fryatt has the attributes to play at the top level. Fryatt, 22, who joined City from Walsall in 2006, has scored 14 goals for the Foxes this season. Dickov told BBC Radio Leicester: "I think Matty could go all the way, he's quick, he's strong, he's got a great eye for goal. "I told him I think he might have 20 goals by Christmas." Leicester go to Swindon on Saturday aiming to stay top of the table. Dickov, who played in the Premier League with Manchester City, Blackburn and the Foxes, added: "He deserves it [recent praise], he's worked hard, his finishing has been excellent." Nigel Pearson's men have moved back to the top of League One with a home win over Yeovil on Tuesday. And 36-year-old Dickov admits getting back into the side after injury is going to be tough: "I've just got to make sure I'm ready, get my chance and take it."
dandannieldanok Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 Fryatt's been very good this season but that's just ridiculous
lookwhaticando Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 The most natural finisher at our club. Or was that the other one?
JakeShingler Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 He was sh*t in the championship so hes going to be no good in the prem.
DB11 Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 I think Dickov is trying to get Fyratt to move in January so he can play in the side
Jon the Hat Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 The lad is only 22. If we were to go up this season and get to Prem a couple of seasons after I could see a confident Fryatt scoring a few in the Prem. You wouldn;t want to rely on him as your first choice though. In a few years if he continues to get better though. Not everyone is brilliant in their teens and early 20's.
Corky Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 You just don't know. Claridge scored goals in the Premiership, as did Ian Marshall, so anything is possible. He'd have to up his game and improve massively though to make a serious impact.

Bert Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 I think the only thing he does have a valid point about, is Matty being on 20 goals before christmas.
Nationwider Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 That's cleared up the drugs mystery then.
clazkel Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 I think Fryatt will make it in the premiership, hopefully in 2 seasons when we get promoted there (its nice to dream)
Jack Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 I think Fryatt will make it in the premiership, hopefully in 2 seasons when we get promoted there (its nice to dream) Behave yourself. You'll see Shola Ameobi at Real Madrid before Fryatt is in the prem.
Nationwider Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Behave yourself. You'll see Shola Ameobi at Real Madrid before Fryatt is in the prem. Oh Shola Ameobi. Oh Shola Ameobi. Oh Shola Ameobi. Knees bend, arms stretch, out for 6 months.

Ric Flair Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 That's cleared up the drugs mystery then.
Flynny Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 He is fairly strong actually, I'll give him that. If he works on his game he theoretically could be a decent Prem player by the time he hits his peak years, but he'd have to continue this form all season and then have a similar season in the Championship before I start believing it. If Dickov's trying to give him a confidence boost though it seems a bit churlish to sit here and say he's being ridiculous about someone with 14 goals already.
RowlattsFox Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 You never know. Some awful players have played in the Premiership. However it is unlikely unless he's lucky.
