frenzal Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Newcastle Academy (April 22) Sheffield Academy (23) Birmingham Academy (25, 26) Glasgow Academy (28) Manchester Apollo (May 3) London Brixton Academy (6, 7) Great news!
wirralsimon Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 As I remember them the first time around the fact it is a 30th Anniversary tour makes me feel very old!
frenzal Posted 2 December 2008 Author Posted 2 December 2008 Yay!Are all of them involved? All but Jerry Dammers apparently, who hasn't confirmed yet.
Daggers Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 I was just about to buy tickets - but someone else seems to be taking the piss today too - £32.50 Thirty two quid for the Birmingham ****ing Academy? For the Specials? It's more than sad, it's obscene!

For the Specials? It's more than sad, it's obscene! i suppose they're coming into that time of their original fans becoming motorcycle/sports car purchasing/more disposable income, so feel they can decide to cash in on that i guess. can't wait until i'm charged 90 quid to watch the stone roses' comeback tour in the 2020's
Daggers Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 I watched Neville Staple supported by The Beat for free in Brum city centre the year before last. That's my yardstick.
Fosse Boy Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Quite surprised they're not playing Chaventry seeing as they're the only good thing (along with the M69) to come out of it.
Jay Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Quite surprised they're not playing Chaventry seeing as they're the only good thing (along with the M69) to come out of it. actually on The Specials website it talks about a very very special announcement ref a gig in Coventry me thinks Richoh Arena sometime in the summer
Alexikokopops Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Keen. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Thursday 11th December.
Ultra Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 actually on The Specials website it talks about a very very special announcement ref a gig in Coventry me thinks Ricoh Arena sometime in the summer If true, it will be a very special occasion indeed - the first time that venue has EVER sold out..
Head Honcho Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 I was just about to buy tickets - but someone else seems to be taking the piss today too - £32.50Thirty two quid for the Birmingham ****ing Academy? For the Specials? It's more than sad, it's obscene! I bought two £35 Simple Minds tickets for last weeks Glasgow gig on ebay for £25 each so I'd wait awhile and see how much they go for. Somehow I can't see them selling out anywhere other than Birmingham which is unfortunate for you. I'll definitely be trying to get some tickets but won't be paying that price.
Alexikokopops Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Somehow I can't see them selling out anywhere other than Birmingham which is unfortunate for you. Tickets went on sale at 9am this morning. Standing tickets for London had sold out by 9am this morning. Everywhere's sold out now except Manchester and the extra London show they added http://www.seetickets.com/see/event.asp?e|...mp;orderby=date

Unit Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Me mam used to sit next to Terry Hall at school (yes she is from cov ) just a bit of trivia for you
Finchy Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 Will be an amazing gig but there will be so many twats there, i'd rather not.
Matt Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 I thought tickets went on sale for the Ricoh tomorrow, thats what someone tol me. I'm gonna try and go. I feel dirty the amount of times i'm going to the Ricoh next year, Going to the Casino early January for someone birthday, Seeing Oasis in the summer, and will be going to this if I get tickets, and when Leicester are in the Championship next season provided Covscum stay up i'll be going to that game aswell. http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/120041...mp;minorcatid=1 I thought they went on sale Friday (tomorrow) but done abit of a search an it looks like they went on sale yesterday, an have sold out. On Ticketmaster why don't they just put "Sold Out" rather than "Currently not on sale". (Currently not on sale sounds as if they will be on sale at a further date to me) Looks like the Birmingham date still has tickets both the 24/25 April.

You feel dirty for going to Cov's ground ?
Matt Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 Are you being serious ? You feel dirty for going to Cov's ground ? They make me sick. Not necessarily just being at Covscum's ground, but obviously the majority are going to Covscum fans, and if they are anything like they were at Godiva Festival (Free festival in Coventry) the abuse an boo anything not from Covscum, then go stupid (And people say I hold grudges over everything to do with football) an go mad about Covscum football when anything related to Cov is said. i.e - Abuse, Booing every act at Godiva Festival, When The Enemy came on.... (I had to grit my teeth when they started chanting against Leicester, Couldn't really say much i'd have got a pounding, Although I did join in with Shit on the Villa ) Then when I was in the queuing for Oasis tickets, This knob behind me was slagging Kasabian off "because they are from Leicester, We don't want them infecting out ground". It really was hell, They really are twats.
Jack Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 They probably are all cocks, but I wouldn't let it bother me man, fook 'em, you have paid to watch whatever your going to watch there as well as everyone else, go and bloody enjoy yourself, lad.

It's hard to enjoy yourself when you're surrounded by them, I was at Godiva Fest too and i had to leave before The Enemy couldn't stand it anymore, absolute ****s.

I can see what your saying but if I paid money to go there I'd make sure that I enjoyed myself regardless of the retards around me.
