maddog Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 I'd like to have been there for that Arsenal 3-3 in '97. Would have been special that. Great game, not as good as Chelsea 4-3 recently though.
Corky Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 The Shrewbury match in 1982 (wasn't born), but after that, the Oxford match in 1991, any of the first three play-off finals and more recently the Cup match with Spurs in 2006. Why did they put it at half six on a Sunday night? Watching on the TV wasn't the same
Guest Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Now I feel old!! You feel old!! Wait until you I post mine!! The Shrewbury match in 1982 (wasn't born), but after that, the Oxford match in 1991, any of the first three play-off finals and more recently the Cup match with Spurs in 2006. Why did they put it at half six on a Sunday night? Watching on the TV wasn't the same The Shrewsbury game is mine. I had to listen on the radio, and I was on tenterhooks!! That Oxford match was a good 'un, but I do regret my mate making us late, so we had to go in the Double Decker, and right at the back, and so we missed the pitch invasion.
Sparky Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 1 of the biggest regrets of my life was not going to Atletico Madrid . Was 17 so age wasnt a reason for not going , think affording it may have been a problem but i should have done more to be there .
Corky Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Leicester City 1 - 6 Ipswich Town I was sodding there!!
Pegosteve Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Another one.... Liverpool at Anfield, I think Jan 81 when we brought their home record to an end with goals from Jim Melrose
Thracian Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 The 1971 Charity Shield victory over Liverpool by 1-0. City had been promoted back into the top division and Liverpool had a cracking side. Leicester City became one of only two clubs (the other being Brighton) to have won the Charity Shield despite never winning either the League championship or the FA Cup. Their appearance was due to Division One champions Arsenal's commitments in European competition which meant that Leicester, as Division Two winners were invited to play FA Cup runners up Liverpool in the Shield. Jimmy Bloomfield was manager and his team remained in the First Division throughout his tenure. For no period since has the club remained in the top division for so long. They also reached the FA Cup semi-final in 1974. And, of course, last year's 4-3 defeat by Chelsea.
Fosse Boy Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Leicester Fosse v Syston Fosse - 1st November, 1884 The 1949 Cup semi-final against Portsmouth at Highbury, according to my Grandad it's the best game he's ever seen. The 1949, 1961, 1963 and 1969 Cup finals. The second leg of the 1964 League Cup final. In my lifetime, the 2000 League Cup final, plus the Athletico and Red Star games. The last league game at Filbo (went to the friendly game on the Monday after though) too.
Finchy Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Arsenal 3-3 in 97, would have loved to be in the kop at Filbert St. that night. Same, never forgiven me Dad for not taking me to that <_<
Corky Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 The thumping 7-1 win over Newark in 1892/93. The Mercury, and Blanderson in particular, were ecstatic at the time, or so I've heard.
rico Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 wish i'd been at pride park when we beat the shaggers 4-0,all goals scored in the 1st half, all headers!

Oh, add the record victory of 10-0 over Pompey in the twenties to my list too. Arthur Chandler, what a legend! Think there's a legend about six geese flying over Filbo during that match?
Sods Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 AHHHHH Just thought of it. Grayson 1-0. Wimbledon.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 4 December 2008 Author Posted 4 December 2008 AHHHHH Just thought of it. Grayson 1-0. Wimbledon. Good call but that ended 1-1, we went through on away goals cos the first leg had been 0-0. Selhurst, theatre of dreams. Hope we draw with Palace...
Jack Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 play off final against Derby. But saying that even If I went I wouldn't remembered any of it being only a nipper when it happend.
Ultra Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Another one.... Liverpool at Anfield, I think Jan 81 when we brought their home record to an end with goals from Jim Melrose Mine too. I'd saved up the money to go, but when we lost to Exeter in the cup that week, I decided not to bother.
