Benji Posted 19 April 2005 Posted 19 April 2005 walker - 5 - command your area! kenton 6 - sound defending too cautious attacking mccarthy - 6 - on off performance dabizas - 6 - did some great things/did some s**t things maybury - 6 - played out of position hughes - 6 - not one of his best games but still one of our best players easily nalis - 5 - lost it really williams - 7 - gave ball away at times but was good at picking up scraps, creating space tiatto - 7 - tried hard, picked up pieces, his fault dabizas got sent off, left him in a no win situation even though he won the ball dublin - 9 - fantastic!!!!!! loud, told people where to go, picked players up, won flick ons, deserved to score with that header - best i've seen him play MOTM easily! connolly - 7 - tried hard but still keeps coming out wide subs: not going to bother, just like levein can't be arsed to use them
thommo2 Posted 19 April 2005 Posted 19 April 2005 agree with your comments and rating differences but would still take off two from each of them making dublin the highst scorer with 7. What a load of trash slightly better bit still awfull. What the F*** was walker doing with that wall any player on the pitch could of scored that free kick.
Mark Posted 19 April 2005 Posted 19 April 2005 Dublin was horrible today Benji, as a striker, points for picking up players is being a bit fair, they shouldn't need that, i know they do though, hopeless bunch. Walker - 5 Cannot kick, holds onto the ball too long, can't line a wall up Kenton - 5 McCarthy - 6 Dabizas - 5 Maybury - 5 Hughes - 6 Nalis - 4 Williams - 4 Tiatto - 5 Dublin - 4 Connolly - 6
Anish Posted 19 April 2005 Posted 19 April 2005 My ratings are gonna be closer to Chainsaw's than Benji's: Walker - 5 - concedes yet another free kick. Can't line up a wall, the free kick was hardly near the corner of the goal anyway (from where i was sitting in the west stand). Poor kicking as usual, electing to hoof it to Connolly on many an occasion when he should be throwing it out quickly to either Maybury or Kenton. Kenton - 5 - offers nothing going forward. Dabizas - 6- usual fouling again, but Tiatto was at fault for his sending off. McCarthy - 6 - much improved playing CB, good in the air. Maybury - 5 - dire performance, got beaten many a time. Gave the ball away needlessly a few times by hoofing to nobody in particular. Hughes - 6.5 - good on the ball, tried to create things. Wasted on the right, though that isn't his fault. Williams - 6 - good in patches, esp. when in possession. But I still want him to do more - command the ball off players, especially his fellow midfielders or defenders when they have nobody to pass to. Instead Williams just runs the other way and 'hides'. Still did fairly well though. Nalis - 6 - decent performance overall. Spread the play well. Tiatto - 5 - poor again. Cannot hold his position, which exposes Maybury and leaves us lacking any width on the left wing. Connolly - 6 - works hard, good finish for the goal. Dublin - 6 - better than De Vries, won a lot of headers, unlucky with the header off the bar.
Benji Posted 19 April 2005 Author Posted 19 April 2005 Dublin was horrible today Benji, as a striker, points for picking up players is being a bit fair, they shouldn't need that, i know they do though, hopeless bunch.Walker - 5 Cannot kick, holds onto the ball too long, can't line a wall up Kenton - 5 McCarthy - 6 Dabizas - 5 Maybury - 5 Hughes - 6 Nalis - 4 Williams - 4 Tiatto - 5 Dublin - 4 Connolly - 6 95595[/snapback] one thing i did though today mate was really look closely at dublin tiatto was captain wasn't he? well it was dublin who sorted our team out. when connolly hit crossbar he got straight in, picked connolly up, told him to bugger off to half way line and then showed hughes his position. i know its not his job but it's what we're missing as a striker he did little wrong i thought. won the majority of his headers (which compared to de vries must earn him 12/10 at the least!) and knew how to set up his strike partner. if he had a natural goalscorer with him i think we'd score plenty of goals dublins flick-ons only looked poor sometimes because connolly never read them, he went to the wing instead of expecting the through the middle header
Mark Posted 19 April 2005 Posted 19 April 2005 Dublins first touch and passing today was at times woeful. I can't get my head round why Tiatto is captain STILL. Dublin is the only motivator, leader, hence give him the captaincy?? Does Tiatto say anything? All he does is lunge in for tackles, and run around in circles when the balls at his feet. Overated from day one i'm afraid was Danny from most of the people on here.
Shum Posted 19 April 2005 Posted 19 April 2005 As Benji has pointed out, I think you people do not give Dublin enough credit... I mean a 4 rating? What the hell! Today he won more flick ons than De Vries in his whole bloody career, he looks like the only player that actually cares out there! I mean that chance when DC hit the post and him and Hughes both gutted on the floor, Dion runs up to them, picks them both up, pats on the back and tells them to get into their positions etc. Just that kinda stuff that shows he actually cares, I just think some people don't see these little things.
Mark Posted 19 April 2005 Posted 19 April 2005 I saw them Shum, i didn't realise he should get added points for doing that though. I rated him as a striker, and he was very poor tonight, as a striker. Better than De Vries obviously, but poor still.
filbertway Posted 19 April 2005 Posted 19 April 2005 I think dublin played well tonight, mainly as a team player helping everyone commanding the team, and for saying how mnay ppor long balls he recieved he won a fair amount of headers.
Cobbo Posted 19 April 2005 Posted 19 April 2005 Walker - 5 Kenton - 6 - solid enough Dabizas - 6 - never a sending off McCarthy - 6 - fair enough, the stiker backs into him and it should be our free kick, but try to keep your hands to yourself a little bit... Maybury - 6 - very much a right footed left back Hughes - 7 - lacking a bit of pace, but very classy. Great touches and some good balls. A bit puzzled why he was taken off Nalis - 6 - better than recently, played a few decent passes Williams - 5 - thought he was very quiet all game Tiatto - 5 - playing pap Dublin - 8 - won a lot in the air and his general motivating of the team is excellent. Very unlucky with a great header hitting the bar Connolly - 6 - shooooooooooooooooot more First half was good, second was poo. Ref was crap....again.
SilverFox Posted 19 April 2005 Posted 19 April 2005 I also though Dublin had a good game, and if anything the forwards do not (STILL) get quality balls played to them! Both DUblin and Connolly would have benefitted from some decent service...an improvement on DeVries though! Once again we let a golden chance to secure safety go! The reason as always are silly little mistakes. We gave away so many free kicks and made so many stupid little fouls! McCarthy was a culpret for this today! Perhaps he's learning too much from Dabizas, and in the end it was his foul that gave them the free kick they scored from. We need to cut this sillyness out! I feel overwhelmingly dissapointed, and it is clear that we need to bury the massive expectations for next year and pray that Levein does a decent building job. We are in this for a while...Levein doesn't need idiotic comparisons between him and his predeccessor! It was MA that built this mess, and it is obvious to all of us who aren't sharing a braincell with the king of the boneheads, that its going to take time to fix! I just hope we stay up!
Little Nicky Posted 19 April 2005 Posted 19 April 2005 Walker - 5 - A ****ing joke; conceding form another set piece. And why he feels the need to bypass all the players on the pitch with a hoof to Connolly is unbelievable! Kenton - 5 - Get Rid, Stearman is perfectly capable of playing there (and seems faster) Maybury would be great to see there , he's wasted at left back! Dabizas - 4 - Far too slow, a donkey, wasn't a sending off, as he won the ball, but I hope it isn't rescinded as I relish the chance of missing him for 2 games McCarthy - 6 - At last, the man is back at Centre Back, fairly solid, and mistake free, as a defender should be. Maybury - 5 - Wasted, provides nothing playing on this side, where the hell is Stewart!? Hughes - 6.5* - top bombing, he was in and out, running the midfield and should have scored, I'd love to see him back in the centre though, he's no right midfielder! Williams - 5 - Again showed spells of what he can do, was an improvement on Saturday, but I'm yet to be convinced! Nalis - 5 - I thought he was naff and should have been subbed as he ran out of steam mid-second half, Gillespie on and Hughes moving into the middle would have been perfect! Tiatto - 4 - Gets a 4 for playing ****ing everywhere but left midfield! He was always in the centre of the park, if not then out on the right, I swear at one point he was playing centre forward when Dabizas went. Connolly - 6 - Always badgering the opposition's defence, I'd like to see him in an attacking midfield capacity as he looks best when shooting from the edge of the box. Dublin - 6 - Worked hard, I hope he stays up top with Conners over De Fries. Subs: All N/A, as Levein doesn't know how to play his hand properly! Levein - 4 - Tell me why all 11 of your players were defending that free kick, and how when there was 10 men in that wall Walker still managed to pick a spot on the line to observe the goal, and didn't dive, what do you do with the guys in training!? Also a substition at around 60 odd minutes when we're looking run out wouldn't go amiss!
Scow Posted 20 April 2005 Posted 20 April 2005 Walker 6 Kenton 6 Dabizas 6 McCarthy 6 Maybury 6 Hughes 7 Nalis 6 Williams 5 Tiatto 6 Connolly 6 Dublin 6 Subs not really worth a mention...
bren Posted 20 April 2005 Posted 20 April 2005 Walker 6 Kenton 6 Dabizas 5 McCarthy 5 Maybury 5 Hughes 7 Nalis 7 Williams 5 Tiatto 6 Connolly 7 Dublin 6 Am still not sure on McCarthy, the number of fouls he gave away yesterday because he was clambering over players was unreal. He also looks like he is panicing alot. Hopefully he just needs to settle
Katy Posted 20 April 2005 Posted 20 April 2005 Tiatto is really starting to hack me off at the moment, hes galavanting off all over the place and leaving us exposed in dangerous areas. Give Dion the captains' armband - the only born leader on the pitch!

Fox in a Box Posted 20 April 2005 Posted 20 April 2005 All the players got a 6 Macarthy and Hughes are looking ok. At least they all were playing better than wigan. Something inside me thinks that some players dont care anymore and just are picking up the wages (Walker? Dabizaz?) One tacticle error on the freekick I was shouting for a man on the post very loudly .....people thought i was mad........then 1-1

Give Levein credit for that because it has only since he has been here that Dubs has been performing. I know what you are saying about Tiatto, he was awful against Wigan on Sat but i thought last night he was a lot better, he tried to be more of an influence, which unfortunately dragged him into the middle leaving Maybury exposed on the left. Although it was partly his fault for Dabizas sending off cos he was dawdling for ages on the ball and got tackled which caused the break.

I dont really rate Tiatto as captain, its not working!
Sparky Posted 20 April 2005 Posted 20 April 2005 walker 5 maybury 5 ( he needs to play right back) mccarthy 6 dabizas 5 kenton 6 hughes 6 williams 6 nalis 5 tiatto 6 connolly 6 dublin 7 *

Sam Posted 20 April 2005 Posted 20 April 2005 He's one of the few players who made a successful pass I thought he had a good game.
Tommy Posted 20 April 2005 Posted 20 April 2005 Walker 6 - Stop faffing about between the post at free kicks Maybury 7- Looked useful, but undoutedly his best position is right back not left Kenton 6- Stopped still when the team was moving forward costing us the break McCarthy 6- Some silly tackles but could turn into the walshy of the future maybe Dabizas 6- No way a foul let alone a sending off, unlucky, looked strong in the air Hughes 7- Looked good on the ball , but was not one his wing at times Nalis 7- Good in general, couple of passes were short but better than a recent Joey Williams 6- Anonymous for large parts of the game, but looked good when in it Tiatto 4- Passes were short, but good commitment really dropped Dabizas in it Dublin 6- Good flick ons, and good defensive headers when at the back late on Connolly 7- Looked lively, but should stay in their half and stay off the left wing Subs De Vries N/A- Not on for long enough to have a judgement passed on him
