lavrentis Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Adios Droylsden I bet if a bigger club was to do this, this would not happen to them.
Samilktray Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 I bet if a bigger club was to do this, this would not happen to them. My thoughts exactly. Harsh.
Joe. Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 My thoughts exactly.Harsh. Well to be fair the man who scored both goals was the inelegible one so it's fair enough in my opinion. Just very careless from Droylsden.
Darkzzz_ Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 I didn't even know the guy was unable to play in this. So to be fair they have been dealt with in the right way by the FA.
Corky Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 It doesn't look good for him. When a similar thing happened to Bury a couple of seasons ago, they were kicked out of the cup. Apparently Droylsden thought the ban would start on Boxing Day. It didn't - it starts on the first game 14 days after the 5th booking. I don't think they have a leg to stand on. And the opposition in the third round that year was Ipswich, just like this year. Incredible.
Ultra Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 Droylsden appeal fails. Droylsden manager and chairman Dave Pace told BBC Radio Manchester: "It is ludicrous as we have beaten Chesterfield fair and square on the field" Except they hadn't. Pace and his club have behaved like total amateurs throughout the whole time this saga has dragged on. He makes even Neil Warnock seem sane and reasonable..
Koke Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 Warning to future clubs - Avoid Ipswich Town Football Club in the FA Cup 3rd round.

He makes even Neil Warnock seem sane and reasonable.. He's a knob- "Fine us but don't throw us out". How about in future you read the rules properly, then you wouldn't put yourself in this situation? What a pillock.
Brainy Posted 31 December 2008 Author Posted 31 December 2008 Problem is that he probably read the Premiership set of rules.
Ultra Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 Not even Premier League clubs could have got away with what Droylsden did.
act smiley Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 If it were someone like Stoke or West Brom, sure, but for a select few I'm sure they'd merely do a slap on the wrist fine or something - the FA don't have the balls to touch any of the big clubs, even if they had them bang to rights like they do Droylsden here.
Ultra Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 I doubt whether any Premier or Football League club would be daft enough to tell a player he could play, even though they had written notice that a suspension was in force.
