I agree with you on some part that Adams was not entirely to blame for our early season performances and i have no doubt that he bought the players he did in the summer because of the severe pressure he was under from the board and the fans to get us promoted straight away. But saying that he made some toss signings.

You cannot blame him for Connelly based on previous records, but Gemmill, Blake, Wilcox, Keown and at the time Dublin were here for the yearly ride. To pick up their pay cheques and piss off in the summer.

I stand by everything I said, I never shouted for his head while he was in charge as I hoped he'd work it out. But you were too stubborn or weak or thick to do it. When you were presented with 2 chances to build your team you cocked it up, once okay you're young, twice you're a fool. La Manga was an abomination and he should have gone then and there. Why he never got rid of Bassett is a mystery and his promotion achievement is now being seen for what it was, great for the Club but achieved by a bunch of players desperate for their salaries and fat bonus. As for Gemmill I'd rather him than Nalis but then that is subjective and the role he now plays behind the scene with the reserves is probably invaluable.
