Simi Posted 5 January 2009 Author Posted 5 January 2009 The 03-04 side would shit all over last years bunch of tools. Correct. Arsenal never got round to replacing Viera, Fabregas isn't fit to lace his boots yet.
Finnegan Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 Correct.Arsenal never got round to replacing Viera, Fabregas isn't fit to lace his boots yet. Totally different players. While I agree the unbeatables were an immense side there were still areas of the park I'm sure Wenger would have liked to improve on. Fabregas is one of the best players in his position I can remember watching in my lifetime. Viera was quality but noway near as creative.

I wouldn't say they were totally different players, this season Fabregas has played a lot deeper and seems to be always collecting the ball from the centre halves. Viera wasn't as creative, I agree with that, but there isn't really a midfielder in the Arsenal side who can be compared to Viera.

You always felt Vieira had control of his midfield, not sure about Fabregas.
Tevez Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 At the age Fabregas is, he carries the Arsenal side. Him and Viera were total different players.
C-man Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 I would love to have seen Law, Charlton and Best against United's front 3 of Berbatov, Rooney and Ronaldo.
