Lillehamring Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 Don't listen to me.Pound getting battered again today. Down 5.5p against the dollar and 2.9p against the euro! beautiful. if it could kindly carry on plummeting until i come to england on a shopping spree in february, that would be very helpful
Monk Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 $1.39 USD to the £ today. Shocking! Hope it recovers before I go to Denver in June!
Daggers Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 I still reckon $1.5 to the pound is ok $1.39 USD to the £ today. Hands up who got a stack of dollars on Jan 11th? Not me
Matt Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 The Aussie Dollar isn't actually too bad. 2.12, which is normal/possibly slightly better than I would normally get. A few weeks ago I saw it at 2.63 - Better than I have ever got, including the first time I went and I got a good rate there and everything seemed dirt cheap. Might have to start buying small amounts ready for next christmas I think.
cisono Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 This is crazy. Was about to buy a course for 100 USD on Friday, left it until today, it's over £5 more expensive
Floating Fox Posted 22 January 2009 Author Posted 22 January 2009 Livid. Book holiday to Europe for cheap beer. This has completly abolished the whole "cheap" part. Luckily I've heard there is a Karnival on and beer is 1 Euro!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 You can afford to go on holiday? Quit whining!
Floating Fox Posted 22 January 2009 Author Posted 22 January 2009 You can afford to go on holiday?Quit whining! P.S I can't really. I'll have nothing left when I get back if the pound keeps ruining itself like this!!
Shrenchel Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Dropped again todays. It's killing me. Read something today that predicted this time next month a pound will buy you 95 euro cents.
Teeno Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Is a nightmare for the company I work for as most suppliers we use we have to buy in Dollar or Euro. To top it all of now all our European customers are now wishing to order in pounds as are prices are set for 6 months at 1.5 a few months back.
