Ric Flair Posted 25 April 2005 Posted 25 April 2005 Unfortunately Nalis has suffered from Levein's policy on players. He was brilliant for us up until christmas but then Levein knew who he wanted to retain for next season in midfield and with Hughes coming in and Nalis being over 30 he was dropped to the bench. Nalis has the class to rip this league apart and he did with 5 quality goals and some awesome passing. The fact is he wants to go home in the summer and we would be looking for a younger player anyway so it's working out for the best. He's been a good signing in my opinion, similar to Zagorakis. Played well when he had a run of games for us, but wasn't as effective when he was in and out of the team. Better than Hignett, Gemmill, Scimeca and Gudjonsson easily.
Scow Posted 25 April 2005 Posted 25 April 2005 Slow.Lethargic. Uninspiring. Weak. Flimsy. It's a shame, cos he showed so much promise in that Barcelona friendly, he's never shone since then though. I like him, but those five words sum him up perfectly in my opinion. 97393 Lethargic? #### hell, he puts more effort in than a lot of players. Criticise his ability, but his effort has always been spot on I think. 97441 Yes, lethargic. 97998 Lethargic suggests he doesn't get about in midfield and is bereft of activity, which is clearly not the case.
Ricey Posted 25 April 2005 Posted 25 April 2005 Nalis took awhile to settle in last season because he couldn't get used to the fact you don't get much time on the ball in England, however credit to him he eventually adapted and began becoming quicker to make descions. Towards the end of last season he was superb and the thought of him playing in the Championship with us excited me and he didn't disapoint in the first half of the season. He looked fantastic but Levein now is using him as a back up player and brings him on late in games which doesn't work at all. He will leae in the summer but I will fondly remember him.
Frenzied Posted 25 April 2005 Posted 25 April 2005 He's a decent player but not of the calibre we were used to (Izzet, Lennon, Savage, Zagorakis, Parker). Has an awesome shot on him at times but is too often anonymous in games. All-in-all I would say he is an average midfielder, nothing special but not terrible either.
step Posted 25 April 2005 Posted 25 April 2005 The later part of this season he seam to have improved again. IMO he wont be easy to replace and we will miss him

The partnership of him and Izzet looked good, we could have done with a player like him in the side this season.

But he might have done alright in this league, but how you can say he was good in the premiership in midfield is beyond me. Other than his goal against Wolves he was absent from alot of our play. Better than Joey though!

MON Posted 26 April 2005 Author Posted 26 April 2005 We will miss nalis next season..... He was good again today, maybe he is a "summer" or "hot weather" player.

He was excellent tonight, our best central midfielder by far - easily overshadowed both Williams and Gudjonsson. He looked terrific on the ball and spread the ball nicely to the flanks, and was always an option to pass to. He hardly put a foot wrong all game and got stuck in too. Great stuff by Nalis tonight - showed his class once more.

His distribution was superb. The whole teams was, we dominated them. I'm now looking forward to next season, the back-four is sorted.
Shum Posted 26 April 2005 Posted 26 April 2005 Quality passer, I think he may have misplaced 2 passes all game. Excellent game. He will be missed if he leaves...
Scow Posted 26 April 2005 Posted 26 April 2005 He was excellent tonight 99371 Lethargic? Ha.
Cobbo Posted 26 April 2005 Posted 26 April 2005 I love Nazza 99375 99390 In a fellow long haired, central midfielder kinda way!

step Posted 26 April 2005 Posted 26 April 2005 Nalis was quality tonight. and a realy good performance by every body
Knighton Matt Posted 27 April 2005 Posted 27 April 2005 in the first half nalis was superb he was pulling all the strings in midfield he basically was the daddy! bit quieter in the second half but still a superb performace overall!
Scow Posted 27 April 2005 Posted 27 April 2005 I hope CL tries to keep him on for another season 99829 If that was the case, then I reckon his attempts would be in vain.
