MON Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 Do you believe he has been a good or bad signing of Adams. I think he has been quite a good signing. He has been out of form in the last couple of months but before that he was playing well, one of our best players.
Bedford Fox Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 personnaly i dont think he is a technicaly gifted playmaker but he works hard and has a good shot so is always got a goal in him.
Craig Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 Slow. Lethargic. Uninspiring. Weak. Flimsy. It's a shame, cos he showed so much promise in that Barcelona friendly, he's never shone since then though. I like him, but those five words sum him up perfectly in my opinion.
Bedford Fox Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 i hate to say it but i have to say Craig has hit the nail on the head! but i hope he can prove me wrong! Go Lilian
Les Doh Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 Nalis showed such promise when he first came to the club but unfortunately I have to echo the above sentiments.
Chimp Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 At his best Nalis is a valuable part of the team, he tracks players and disrupts opposition play as part of his defensive responsibilities. At times he has great vision and show good anticipation, he spreads the play and puts in good through balls. At his worst he's, well, pointless and often damaging. Through his time at City I think he's done well for us. I think he's the type of player that needs to have a good run in the first team and will never perform if used as a sub.

Criticise his ability, but his effort has always been spot on I think.

He made some that were better but some were a lot worse than Nalis. Lots of things happened to him off the field last season that were out of his control and they hindered his performances, but he worked hard in pre-season and he started this season well. He needed a longer run in the team to estbalish himself but he's always been in and out. He had a better game on Tuesday than I've seen him have for a while and I'd rather see him play than Joey or Gareth at the minute as they looked totally off the pace on Saturday but he is starting to show signs of holding onto the ball too long like Gemmill. Maybe Dawson and Hughes in the middle soon?

Walker was going through a tough time with his Dad as well wasn't he?
Anish Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 I think Nalis has been a good signing - he is technically very good and as Cobbo says, he does put in a lot of effort. He looks for the ball so much more than any of our other midfielders (namely Williams and Joey) and has a good passing ability. Granted he has been off form for a few months, but he has impressed me in the last 2 games when he's started.
C-man Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 His defending is appalling, he's constantly on the wrong side of the ball, trying to chase back, but doesnt have the pace. His passes sometimes go astray, and hes been poor all season.

Did I miss something? 97915[/snapback] He had someone in his family that died and I think a member/some members of his wife's family died in a car crash or something along those lines. His wife wanted to go back to home to be with her family for a while and Nalis went with her. It didn't help him settle into the country or help improve his game.

step Posted 24 April 2005 Posted 24 April 2005 He is with out doubt the only creatve midfielder we have, except for hughes.

Especially when you can add Williams to that, and at a stretch Gillespie too.
step Posted 24 April 2005 Posted 24 April 2005 Comparing williams with nalis is insulting to both players, IMO they are very different, Williams is a lot more agressive and stronger than Nalis, he gets the ball and passes it to the nearist player. Nalis is a much more intelegent player, when all the rest of the team are just passing the ball back and forth and not going anywhere, give the ball to nalis and he will find the break or the weakness in their defence and exploit it. Long balls or players out wide are nalis specialty.
