Guest freund Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 So Levein has taken us from 3 points off the playoffs to 3 points above relegation. That sounds like were going in 'the right direction'! Meanwhile, Micky Adams has got the pile of shite known as Cov out of the relegation zone. Thanks very much Craig Levein. 97783 Go Donald Duck yourself, and get a Sky Blues season ticket while you're at it...scum! 97785 grow up
FNQ Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 I'm only stating facts. Why on Earth would I buy a Coventry season ticket?
Mark Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 I just cant believe people are complaining that we've just lost 2-1 to a good side, it makes no sense 97784 It sounds like we played very well first half against, what is now, a PREMIERSHIP side. A 2-1 defeat isn't so bad, at least we gave it a go and came close. It wasnt a negative performance. With two home games coming up now, we should save critism of the team if they fail to perform against Derby and Leeds, who we have to compete against next season if we're to finish in the top 10 at least.

We have to wait for another shit performance.

MON Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 Dabizaz and De-Vries are most likely out for the next game.
MON Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 It sounds like De-Vries is now 1st choice striker. And levein will never voluntarily play two small forwards.
Louise Posted 23 April 2005 Author Posted 23 April 2005 What a goal from Maybury, just saw it on SSN,
filbertway Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 the goal was top notch no doubts, excellent first half display great game to watch. second half we died down a bit, in the end zonal marking let us down
Anish Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 Bloody hell, I get back from the game and have 16 pages to read! It was a good performance overall - we started off extremely well and Maybury's goal was fantastic. We should have added to it with MDV, and particularly Stephen Hughes. Hughes was one v one with acres of space and loads of time, yet he still somehow manages to take one touch too many and let the defender get a block on it. Disgraceful, and at this level you can't frig up chances like that. Connolly could've scored at the end of the first half too but blazed over. Second half was pretty even. Diabolical defending yet again cost us. And believe me when I say this: Our defending from corners is TERRIBLE!!! Every single corner they had they looked like they could score from - zonal marking is simply not working. It has got beyond a joke. Levein is a fool for persisting with it. For fuks sake it makes me livid - we can't do something as basic as defending a corner. And another thing that didn't work all game was bringing EVERY single player back to defend set pieces. Levein has to start changing his tactics otherwise I will begin to abuse him. It is simply unacceptable how he fails to recognise our problem week-in week-out yet we can all see it. Aside from that, we did cause Sunderland a few problems. Moore played quite well and surprisingly managed to win a few flick ons, which was a bonus. Tiatto played well also, despite the fact that he drifted all over the place. Dublin was a revelation when he moved up front - definitely caused the Sunderland defence more problems with his aerial threat. However, Gareth Williams was disappointing again. The first 10 minutes after he came on he looked sharp and had a few neat touches. After that he was anonymous again. He is a complete waster imo - so much talent yet he doesn't want to get involved. There was one incident where he had 2 defenders surrounding him and he had Kenton wide right (a simple 6 yard pass, Kenton was unmarked and in space) - but Williams tried to turn/trick the 2 defenders and lost the ball. Infuriating is an understatement!! Anyway, that's my take on the game...
