Police are investigating after two sheep heads were thrown through pub windows before a FA Cup clash. Skip related content

Drinkers at two pubs in Derby reported two separate incidents of sheep's heads being thrown through windows on Friday night.

It happened just before the FA Cup fourth round match between Derby County - nicknamed The Rams - and Nottingham Forest at Derby's Pride Park.

A Derbyshire Police spokesman said they were investigating whether the incidents were connected to the football match, which resulted in a 1-1 draw.

He said the first head was thrown through the window of The Lodge pub in Grange Road, Alvaston, at about 7pm, then a short time after another head was thrown through the window of the Mitre pub in Allenton.

He said the pubs are around a mile apart, and within several miles of Pride Park.

The spokesman said investigations are continuing and appealed for anyone with information to contact police on 0345 123 3333.
