lol Would be a massive upset, still.

I'd both love it and hate it. Gatland made a good point on Scrum V (Welsh rugby program) that, with his Lions hat on, England doing well is a cornerstone of the Lions doing well. That and I want to see a good, competitive tournament.

Still, it would be nice to see Italy get better and better. They really scared you lot last time out.

Two massive games in Murrayfield and Dublin, though. We've only won 2 out of our last 11 visits to Scotland.

Fooking hell Goode back in !!!

Bit of a kick in the teeth for Shane Geraghty but in fairness Goode is a better place kicker and the form we are in we must kick our goals .

Happy that the in form Stefan Armatage will get his 1st cap but i am fooked if i know why Haskell gets the nod ahead of Tom Croft

No Tigers in the starting XV at all.. :o

I can really see England struggling along with the Scottish. Italians might provide a bit of competition but won't do anything special.

I can see the French having a rather average tournament and it coming down to whoever wins between Ireland and the Welsh.

Imagine how many knives would be out for Johnno if it happened.. :(

One more reason to hope that it doesn't. Johnno is a legend and deserves to be remembered as such.

Yeah a bit mental. I know we're all biased on here but I don't understand how you can consistently overlook one of the best teams in the league. Got to be strange that not a single Tiger warrants a call up. I haven't seen them much this year - but given how shit England's centers always are is Hipkiss really on that poor form? And aren't Tom Croft and Jordan Crane meant to be two of the best players of their generation?

And when are England going to learn to stop playing utterly shit wingers and pick a finisher of the highest, highest degree in Varndell? At least try the boy?

This whole side, with the selection of Goode, seems like England are just going to give up, shut up shop, make every game hideous and kick their way to 15 - 12 wins.

Italy are going to play Mauro Bergamasco at scrum-half, arguably their best forward now out-of-position. lol

Mate. Mauro will play ANYWHERE. He's in my fantasy side. I actually wish he was Welsh, purely just for how brilliantly cool he is. We just need to find his, like, great grandad Dai Burgamasco.

lol I'm pretty sure I never told you the Scots would actually win it. Last year was massively unpredictable though, might have been worth a a quid or two.

It's really up in the air this year, though.

There is now , Harry Ellis starts at scrum half replacing the injured Danny Care . The old Ellis - Goode combo back in action

Well, i ended up going to the game today. Big bro calls at 8am, his wife can't go, so i'm invited for a day out. Free tickets, free 3 course meal before the game, free parking etc.. "worth" £85 (oooo fancy). He got them through work and couldn't be a tit and pull out last minute, so i got the call to tag along, and although i was gutted to be missing the leicester game, i had to help him out really.

What an awful display of rugby that was! Italy were absolutely woeful, could anyone see that coming? I was giving them the big build up before the game, but god they were woeful. Passing and handling of little ability and an aimless kicking game.

England did well to profit from poor Italian play with a few moments of individual brilliance, but other than that an extremely frustrating day for a purist like myself. Awful advert for the game. Sucked the life out of rugby.

nice day out with big bro anyway and the meal was alright.

The selection of Goode is pretty much a signal that they're going to suck the life out of rugby. Fair scoreline, though, nice points difference.

Edit: I've got Mauro Bergamasco in my dream team. Wtf are they doing to him!?

Only saw the first half of England yesterday because of the Leicester match. I'm not sure how we played in the second half so I can't really comment on that, but the first half was woeful. England simply didn't play any rugby, just kicked it up field and waited for the errors. Tbf one positive is the fact that England converted their only chances clinically, but it's a shame they had to rely on Italy to create them. As for Italy themselves, I always thought Bergamasco would struggle but perhaps not quite as much as he did, and his pitfalls produced the falling domino effect onto the rest of the team.

England are going to have to improve massively if they're going to win anymore games in this tournament.

Wales looked very average to be honest. Not what I expected, especially how poor Scotland were in the first half.

Any news on the knock Shane Williams picked up? Nothing serious I hope.

England yesterday was shocking in phases. If it wasnt for the Italians silly little mistakes then it would of been alot closer. Goode shouldnt be playing at fly half even though he scored a respectable amount of points. Cipriani needs to comeback in and form a partnership with Ellis for the remaining four games.

Ireland were impressive.
