lildave3 Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Just tuned in to see Goode cock his kick up.
Fosse Boy Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Just tuned in to see Goode cock his kick up. In fairness, he's recovered somewhat with that DG.
Joe. Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 In fairness, he's reovered somewhat with that DG. Yeah that was a great effort to be fair. England have recovered well.
Finnegan Posted 14 February 2009 Author Posted 14 February 2009 Shittin' it. Looks like England don't need Shaun Edwards, haha, much the better defence so far. Typical of Andy Goode to decide to have his yearly decent game today, bastard. I'm concerned. We really needed to grab a try at the end of that half to steady ship. Have to say though, under Gatland we've typiaclly had much better second half displays (with the exception of the ABs game in the Autumn.) Edit: Time to get the lucky Wales shirt on in an attempt to swing the averages!
Finnegan Posted 14 February 2009 Author Posted 14 February 2009 LEIGH FUCKING HALFPENNNNNNNNNNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!
Maybes Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Any sport where Wales can beat England should not be followed

Bert Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 This thread wouldn't have half as many posts in it if Wales weren't doing well at rugby.
Finnegan Posted 14 February 2009 Author Posted 14 February 2009 Shaun Edwards will absolutely murder this lot in the week. Shocking defence again. That Armitage is doing alright, mind. I was just sat there thinking he's no Lee Byrne n'all. Serves me right.
Finnegan Posted 14 February 2009 Author Posted 14 February 2009 This thread wouldn't have half as many posts in it if Wales weren't doing well at rugby. You obviously don't read this thread every year. I'm even mouthier when we're losing.
Uncle Albert Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Brilliant game of Rugby! Fairplay to the Welsh they captialised on England's mistakes and I think Wales deserved it. They had more of the possesion but England show fight. Nice to see.
dandannieldanok Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Unlucky England, outscored Wales on the try front and really performed well. Worsley was outstanding. The ref had a mare really, heavy bias towards the home side.
Finnegan Posted 14 February 2009 Author Posted 14 February 2009 Dispappointing performance but you have to hand it to England for a stunning show. Really thought they'd come and just play anti-rugby and at times they did, Worsley was the chief of that. But they showed ambition and were worth the tries. I thought Armitage's was avoidable but in all fairness the lad took it well and didn't do much wrong today, deserved it. I'd be proud of that if I were English. I also think it's worth noting that England's points difference is still looking fairly healthy and that Wales would be favourites to beat Ireland at home but lose to France away. That in mind, I really wouldn't write off England's chances of winning the Championship at all at this stage. Alright game in the end, not exactly a joy for all the puritans but higher scoring than I fancied it might be. The ref had a mare really, heavy bias towards the home side. I don't think so, really. He may have been kind but I wouldn't describe it as "heavy bias" - you don't want to pay too much attention to Brian Moore's rantings, the man's a fool. I thought both the English binnings were warranted - especially Goode's and Moore's cry for Ryan Jones to receive the same fate for not rolling away were utterly laughable. Lee Byrne was a bit of a lucky boy, mind.
CosbehFox Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Lee Byrne was a bit of a lucky boy, mind. More than lucky. According to 5live, the ref pre-warned England that he watched the previous games and knew what 'fouls' to expect. Either, we were very naive and idiotic or that wasn't the best thing a ref could have said. Beat ourselves, Wales scored points off penalties and against 14 men - but I'd cynically say that was half of our gameplan, the intention was not necessarily to win but to lost with dignity. Scoring 3 instead of 7 makes the scorecard look a whole lot better. The general play tactics were spot on, Worsley and Flutey both looked the part. Either way, the game was a massive benefit in giving certain players the game time in such an atmosphere and will be beneficial in the long run, if we insist with the same players. But please Johnno, get rid of Vickery and Borthwick - yesterday's men, carthorses. See Gethin Jenkins, the opposite of Vickery hand out some major tackles.
Finnegan Posted 14 February 2009 Author Posted 14 February 2009 Geth Jenkins is a beast. Not sure I'd say "more than lucky", if you actually saw it he had every right to commit and it didn't really watch as malicious. He should have made more of an effort to stop and not make contact but then you run the risk of giving him a free run forward. Every player in the world would have done what Byrne did and yes it was a penalty. But it wasn't as dangerous as the Scots lad on the same player last week. I don't really care who wants to call me bias, I watch the sport weekly and in 90% of games the ref would have made the same call. Penalty to England, rightly so, get on with the game.
CosbehFox Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Anyways, Finnegan I must agree with your analysis of this tournament than I did originally. It appears it's going to be competitive, very competitive if the Italians can sort themselves out.
Finnegan Posted 14 February 2009 Author Posted 14 February 2009 Aye totally. I really, really, really hope tomorrow's a good game. I'm desperate for the Azurri to put in a good show - I really think they're massively improved over the years and this whole business of playing a flanker at 9 is just retarded. What the hell their coach is doing is beyond me. Why not bleed some young 9? Inexperience is better than a total and utter lack of positional sense. Some good games so far. Loving it. England would deffo be my dark horse bet if I was a betting man right now.
