(I didn't even know we had one until half an hour ago ) Their website is under construction ahead of the new season so has no information at all but does anyone know where they play or when the season starts? http://www.leicesterfalcons.co.uk/

Or at least I think it was them.
syston_fox Posted 10 February 2009 Author Posted 10 February 2009 Well after searching around a bit on other teams sites I've found that they're playing the 'Lincolnshire Bombers' at home on Sun 3rd May.... all I need to do now is find out where 'home' is and I'm laughing!

Only on TV - would love to see a proper game in America but that won't be happening any time soon. Can imagine the english leagues being similar to a sunday league football match on the park with only passers by and family really watching but would still be interested to see a game.

C-man Posted 11 February 2009 Posted 11 February 2009 They used to play at Stoneygate RFC in Scraptoft. I've played there for Sheffield against Leicester's joint university team, the Longhorns. There's been a complete overhaul at the Falcons since they joined the BAFL competitively. It was their first season last year and they won 3 out of 8 games. Not bad for a rookie team.

Not sure if this is the same club under a different name or something else entirely?

Yeah, the Panthers disbanded after many years at Saffron Lane. Not the same club as Leicester Falcons.
Lillehamring Posted 12 February 2009 Posted 12 February 2009 Didn't Martin Johnson used to play for them before making a career for himself at the Tigers? i used to play in the same panther youth team as him... he used to play offense and defense, and i have never seen anyone punt a ball as far as him, would have easily got into the nfl as a punter, if not more... incredible athlete, we did tackling drills and getting hit by him was just insanely harsh. incredibly good set up at LPY, we trained three nights a week, and had maybe 5 coaches and used the senior team's kit. i'd love to get hold of one of the LPY shirts, if any body knows where they ended up?
