14 Games To Go.

Recommended Posts

There's 14 games left to go this season, and we currently sit on 70 points.

I think we need 6 more wins to pretty much guarantee us going up. Whereas we need 20 points to reach 90 points, the other teams all need at least 30.

I believe we're strong enough to do it.

Come on you blues.

Let me just add, that at the minute, if we carry on with our current average points total, we're due to hit 99.

Definately still think we're going up.

We need a good result against Bristol though to take us into the MK Dons game.

The longer this run of draws goes on, the more likely it will be to continue for quite a while.

That would actually take the piss! :(

lol Doesn't that just mean the same thing? If the run of draws does go on, it's continuing.

Agree with what you're trying to say though.

i'm sure you were on track for 102 or more just a couple of weeks ago?

Draws will drop that though. Just done it again, and with our average points total at the minute we're due for 99-101.

I completely wanked up what I was trying to say, I apologise.

The longer this mini winless run goes on, the harder it will be to break it.

Yeah, I knew what you were getting at. I agree as well.

I think all City fans know deep down that we are in the middle of our little crisis.

This crisis will carry on until the end of the season when we will need to win to stay in 2nd place.

We will have completely fcuked up 1st place to MKD and the likes of Oldham,PBoro,Scunnie will be on our tails.

Last game of the season away to Crewe we will need a win to secure promotion.

we'll fcuk that up too and get into the play offs.

But we will win that fcuker in style!!! :D

Its the Leicester way!!! :scarf:

:santa: (p>s Why is this santa bastard still here?..its nearly bloody Easter!!!!)

:D

The MK game is absolutely massive now. A few weeks ago it wouldn't of mattered too much what the result was, but now (if MK win their games in hand) it is vital not to lose. I know 2nd place means we are up but the title is where the party's at.

WILL EVERYONE RELAX!

I reckon Peterborough away will be the day we are officially PROMOTED :chant:

Leeds home will be the day we are handed the League 1 Championship :chant:

You heard it here first

if we average 1 point per game to the end of the season, we would finish on 84 points...

the teams in 3rd to 6th would have to average over 2 points a game to match that.

nothing that we are doing at the moment would suggest we won't manage at least a point a game...

and averaging 2 a game is not so easy.

To be honest I would be disappointed not to win the title. Ok promotion is the main thing and of course I would still celebrate but I want to go up knowing we have won this ****er.

It would be an absolute disaster if we did not see this out as champions.

From the position we are in, we should expect nothing less.

As things are now though results wise, I'm not quite so sure. We lack a cutting edge. Pace. We're not clinical.

So do I, especially as we estabilished such a good lead above MK. Few of the teams below have been that consistant of late either though. We'll win on saturday and we'll be fine again.

mathematically, we're still on course for 100 (100.625 to be exact  )

but yes, we have to go up as champions and i still want us to get the magical 107 - we can only drop 5 points to achieve that now though...

I'm in two minds about this: The most important thing is getting promotion, however, I hate the idea of Franchise taking the title.

It wouldn't be so bad if it was another team, though it would still be gutting to have squandered the position we've built up.

I don't want to sound cocky or arrogant etc, but I think we will be sure to go up. If you do the maths etc we are in a very strong position. I know its still possible to fech up but to be honest, I can't see that happening with the squad we have. Also, the teams below us are dropping points aswell, take the weekend and last night as an example.

107 points dream on lol

I think we'll get 90 tops this season should be enough to be champions

Hi all, Long time since I posted on here but to all you doom mongerers a little bit of fact. I have looked at last seasons final table. Swansea were promoted on 92points they lost a total of 8 games during their season. Forest were 2nd on 82 points and lost 8 games. Doncaster finished 3rd on 80 points losing 12 games and Dirty Leeds who as we know were deducted loads of points finished in the play offs on 76 points. If there points hadn't of been deducted they would have gone up automatically - they didn't ha ha, hence Bates Legal case which he lost!

Therefore we need to win four more games from our remaining fourteen fixtures to guarantee 82 points which was good enougth for 2nd last season. So far we have only lost 2 games.

A lot of people on here seem to be panicking for no reason. We should be capable of winning four games if not more from our remaining fixtures!

We will lose again this season we will not remain unbeaten for ever! However, it won't mean we shouldn't be promoted. Oh and it is a lot harder to win games in hand. I would rather have the points on the board anytime, regardless of games played. Playing catch up is never easy regardless of who you are.

After all of the pain of the last few seasons, it's not surprising that we panic easily and even when looking at a 19 match unbeaten run there are plenty of us being stressed by the fact that a few of those games have been draws. It was evident on Saturday, that when Swindon scored there was a real "here we go again" atmosphere, which was based more on memories of previous seasons' performances of a trailing LCFC than on their record coming from behind this year. In this campaign, for the first time possibly since the MON days, going a goal down doesn't mean the end of the world, but I think large parts of the crowd are taking longer to shake that off than the team have done. Of course it helps the team that they weren't in the crowd watching over the last couple of seasons, but there you go...

It's not a good recipe, really: take a bunch of Leicester City fans, add a few years of failure and disappointment, throw in a revolving door manager situation for a season and then round it off with a relegation to the third tier for the first time in our history. I think we should stop fighting each other over it. Those who are posting on here criticising the worriers should remember that posting negative comments on a fan discussion board doesn't actually lead to the team playing badly, and therefore we should give sympathy not abuse to the fans who are letting the stress get to them. And those who are feeling the desperation to get back into the championship and are terrified they can see a stumble at the finish line in every 0-0 draw should remember that we've played well enough all season to get 70 points, and that just as we're inevitably going to lose a game or two sometime, we're also going to win some, too, and that makes the 80-odd points we need for promotion a comfortable target.

I think we've spent too much time in recent seasons doing maths to work out what it will take to avoid relegation, that it's become a compulsive habit for some of us... "we need x points from y games, that's ..." but let's just all take a deep breath, remember that we can only play one game at a time, and all the other teams have to play a dozen or more games (and therefore lose some of them) too before the end of the season, and finally, enjoy ourselves a bit at games for the rest of this season. We're top of the league, for fook's sake. Let's make the most of it, ok?
