davieG Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 From OS The annual Leicester Varsity football match returns tonight (Monday) as Leicester University and De Montfort University lock horns at the Walkers Stadium. Pre-match entertainment starts at 6:00pm before the action kicks off with the Women's game at 6:30pm. The men then take centre stage under the floodlights at 7:30pm. Tickets are £5 on the gate. Meanwhile, students that buy a ticket for tonight's game can also purchase a ticket to watch Leicester City v Stockport County on Tuesday, March 3 for just £6.

Bluefoxtim Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Just got back! Was WELL worth the money. Both games went to penalties, Leicester winning the women's and DMU the men's. Standard was MUCH higher than I expected and there was a very respectable crowd too.

Standard was MUCH higher than I expected and there was a very respectable crowd too. It certainly was!! Great entertainment for a fiver and a good atmosphere in the DMU end. I thought the women's match was a bit poor, but the men's match was great entertainment and DMU just about deserved it in the end.
