Leicester supporters were again being praised by the club for their patience as Season Ticket sales hotted up in the build up to Saturday's Early Bird discount deadline.

Thousands of City fans have already shown their support to boss Craig Levein by taking advantage of the 10 per cent discount that is available until close of business on Saturday, April 30.

And the club are now bracing themselves for even more demand as the deadline nears.

Head of Football Administration Chris Tinbergen said: "It has yet again been a fantastic response from the supporters. Never before have we sold season tickets this early and to have already sold nearly 5,000 is a huge bonus to the club.

"As we near Saturday's deadline we could be selling between 500 and a 1000 season tickets a day. That causes problems in terms of queues but the patience shown by supporters so far has been fantastic.

"The Ticket Office will continue to do everything they can to minimise any delays, but we would like to remind all supporters that rather than coming to the Ticket Office and queuing, or becoming frustrated hanging on the phones, if you have access to e-mail, simply e-mail the ticket office at [email protected] and the staff will take the hassle out of renewing for you.

"There is also still time to post your applications. All e-mails or postal applications received before Saturday evening WILL receive their respective discounts."

The Leicester City Ticket Office have extended their opening hours throughout the week to help with the demand. The Ticket Office will be open from 9.00am on Tuesday, up until kick off (7.45pm), from 9.00am until 5.00pm on Wednesday, from 9.00am until 7.00pm on Thursday, 9.00 until 6.00pm on Friday and 8.00am until 6.00pm again on Saturday.

Don't know whether to believe them or not... <_<

The rate at which we are selling will decrease dramatically after April. Don't forget that.

I wont :)

is that more or less than this time last year do we know?

We weren't selling them at this time last year!

On the one hand it sounds like a good stat considering its only the first month of sales, but the discount will have distorted sales somewhat. Then again a lot of people might not have been prepared to pay so early, even with discounts. Remember also that there is still a 5% discount next month as well, so I suspect we'll still have at least 10k ST holders next season....good compared to some clubs but down by 6500 on this year :(

Right lets get the record straight.

I will be purchasing 2 season tickets TONIGHT before the game about 6pm ish, I insist on giving the new manager time.

The results have been a fine line between 3pts and 1pt in many cases.

We should have learnt alot from this...

I think the early bird is set up for loyal fans and I think YES 5,000 have signed up with maybe 1,00 more by the end of the week.

It's the CLUB I love not the fairweather fans or the poor players I support them whatever.

Thanks LCFC for the reduction if I'm to buy early, I know we cant all afford it at the moment but that's not my problem.

I wonder how many under 8's are in the 5,000?

I don't care how many season tickets have been sold to date; I'm more interested in how many will have been sold the day before the new season starts, make your comparisons then Mr Mace. I might take them seriously then.

We think the 5,000 figure is true.

One of the Trust board spent a day in the ticket office prior to the Wigan game & sales had topped 3,000 then.

A rush to advantage of the full discount as late as possible was expected this week. There was certainly a big queue outside the ticket office pre-match & I spoke to someone who renewed 3 ST's tonight & he said the vast majority in the queue were ST renewals.

High hopes for next season. But it's good to see so many supporters remaining true to the club.

Although I won't be able to see a single live game in the 2005/06 campaign, I wish the club and all its faithful supporters just the best and good luck for the upcoming season.

May the force (and the Kisnorbo) be with you! lol

When I left the ticket office at half 5 we'd sold over 8,500 tickets, and people were still queueing for quite a way outside the door! I'd say we'll hit 10,000 easy before Leeds match!

That's great. :) I must say I am surprised by the amount of people ready to renew, not that I'm questioning loyalty but I thought we'd have a big-ish drop after the season we've had, the way its going now we could have 15kish. Or is that overly optimistic?

Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere so I thought I'd post it here, after the match on Sunday the PA guy announced we'd sold 11,000 STs already and that there was still a big back-log to get through.

11,000 now...

Season-Tickets Sales Go From Strength To Strength

Leicester City have already sold over 11,000 season-tickets for next season.

And the club are hopeful that the record numbers recorded ahead of the 2004/05 campaign could be matched by the time the new Championship season kicks-off on Saturday, August 6.

The Ticket Office was a hive of activity last week in the run-up to Saturday's 10% Early Bird discount deadline.

Head of Football Administration Chris Tinbergen was delighted with the response.

He said: "The Early Bird Scheme has undoubtedly been a huge success.

"We were selling over a 1,000 season-tickets a day last week and to be over 11,000 already is beyond our expectations.

"We still have 5% Early Bird discounts available right through May, which on top of the 5% Loyalty Discount available to all season-ticket holders who renew still makes a worthwhile saving.

"We believe that we now have a chance of retaining our current numbers of over 16,000 and who knows, we could even exceed that figure should the current air of optimism continue."

The Foxes results against Derby County and Leeds United have helped boost morale both on and off the field and Tinbergen added: "The team's recent form has helped enormously, but the supporters' early commitment allows the club to begin its rebuilding process now, rather than waiting until later in the summer.

"It's a really positive end to what has, on the whole, been a difficult season."

It would be excellent if we could!  I have a not so strange feeling that things will slow down now though!

I think so too
