They just did not give us time to play all game, we were outfought in all areas and it seemed to ruffle us.

After seeing Gradel's performance tonight, i'm beginning to understand why Pearson has held him back so much. He was not alone in being poor but his decision making was woeful at times.

We have come through games with points where we have played like this but last night Lady Luck decided that she was with the scallies because their work rate thoroughly deserved 3 points and fair play to them.

Howard - Looks knackered.

Mattock - Is not a midfielder.

King - does not like to play against the physical sides.

I could go on.

For me it seems as though we have to be able to raise our game against opposition who are out to prove something, Saturday will provide us with the ideal opportunity to let the teams around us that we are still intent to win this god awful league.

It's been mentioned so many times that Mattock's not a midfielder I just wonder why the club seem to be the last to notice or take any notice.

He'll have enough to do making a convincing left-back.

As for Kingy not noticed that he's more troubled than anyone else against the "physical" sides. Against Tranmere he certainly struggled along with everyone else but remained one of the view who continued trying to pass the ball around quickly and simply.

It was never going to be easy with Tranmere closing quickly and with us leaving not one but both our specialist wingers on the sidelines.

Powell and Mattock were no help to him at all in offering passing options, Cleverley was unable to break clear of anyone so the same problem existed on the right and that left Howard (totally knackered as you say) and Fryatt (always well contained.

That being the situation and with the added lack of movement, I wonder who you would have passed too. A measure opf the match was that we hardly created any chances all night because, as always when we find ourselves under a bit of pressure (and that's what it was cos Tranmere weren't cloggers) we stop passing and being patient (as we did early on) and start hooving.

But it was Pearson sent us out to play without pace and penetration and without the means of really stretching those biggish defenders.

Their defence certainly didn't look impenetrable but I couldn't see how we were going to get through them the way we lined up.

There was one simple reason we lost on Wednesday and it is pointless inspecting your navel for fluff over it - they wre sent out with or themselves had the wrong attitude/approach to the game and thought they could have contained the game. The goal went against them and they couldn't react. As previously stated if we set out to finish the season with style we will do a good job alternatively we can look inwards again and self destruct.

I would like to think that Saturday brings a positive response and a good result - it has often been said that it is not how you fall but how you get up that counts!!!!

oh and 1 other thought......we're top of the league we;re top of the leagueeee we'rre Leicester City and we're top of the league!!!!!!
