i thought saturday (cheltenham) was going to be the defeat, but this'll do for a run-in kick up the arse the team seemed to be badly in need of.

I'm not coming back until we next win a game.... see you in September.

My bad everyone, it was the first game I've managed to actually listen to in nearly a month... :(

Ronnie Moore always musters a win for his sides against us, at rotherham he did it.

Knows how to win, no worries, sc'ouch'cers always knick points of us!

CALM DOWN CALM DOWN.

I'm not gonna read this thread. I'm pretty sure it will be half full of people saying we'll now struggle, and half full of people saying it's a blip.

We're not playing very well, but we'll go up and more than likely in top spot, too. Stop worrying, as I'm guessing most people in this thread have been?

Well that was a fun night. Shit on the pitch and get back to the car to find out some little Scouse ****ers had been through it. Dumb-asses missed all the goodies though so I've calmed down, calmed down. Anyways, tonight was poor. Mattock did nothing on the left and Gradel or Lloyd should have started. Hobbs was quality at the back but his distribution was poor. Morrison was pretty poor, few good tackles but looked shakey. Gilbert looked good going forward but had no end product and wasn't the most comfortable at the back. Can't be arsed to rate the rest, suffice to say it was poor and Savage had a good game.

Well, y' can't win 'em all, can yer?

Lets hope that this result gives them that bit of focus that seems to have been missing *(weekend result notwithstanding)*.

As a complete aside, saw Stearman and Phil Brown (as well as other football related types) having a fine time at Cheltenham races today, not together I might add.

Did he injure his shoulder near the end of the game?

Yeah he did.

pulled off a terrific save and then looked like he could have possibly dislocated it how he fell and was holding it, but im no doctor.

Can we be loaned ANOTHEr GK if he is fcuked???

Just got back and very dissapointed tbh.

We didn't turn up and at times it looked like we didn't want to be their.

Front 2 were woful.

Mattock and cleverly shit

King and oakly average drifted in and out the game to much

Full backs - good.

centre backs both poor although hobbs made some good last ditch tackles

keeper - average.

They were allowed too much time on the ball and played like they wanted something.

Fans were in good voice tho' ours not theirs.

Ref was a bag of shite too.

Gave them free kicks that were never free kicks.

But time to man up and move on.

Don't know.

But Martin can't be that far away.

If needs be i'll go in goal i'll fill it then no one will score.

Think the run in will be decided more by who wants it more than who has the most ability.

We need to get a grip on things as we STILL are in the driving seat BUT its all ours to fcuk up.

We will be playing teams who will be alot hungrier than us(Millwall,PBoro,Leeds) so we cant think the job is done until we are mathmatically promoted.

lol mate lets not act like your fans were in good voice, didn't hear a peep from you all night apart from some good banter with a pub full of you in the clipper pre match.

Let's be fair and honest here; we deserved to lose by the scoreline we did and we were extremely poor.

The first half was one of the worst I've seen from us; one effort and that was a horribly skewed effort wide from Howard. I reckon the possession count in the first half must have been 65-35 Tranmere's way, because whenever we got the ball it was hit straight back to them. We never looked like scoring.

Ironically Tranmere scored after we had our first shot on target right at the start of the second half, and a good goal it was too. There was a 10-15 minute spell when I thought we might actually hit back, but ultimately Tranmere were too good for us. They really impressed me actually, playing some nice passing football. It's not hard to tell why they have such a good home record.

For me, Pearson got it wrong tonight. Playing Mattock left wing was never going to work, and it showed by the fact he barely touched the ball and wasted it when he did. The jury's still out on Cleverley as well for me, just not good enough.

Special mention goes to Ian Goodison, Tranmere's centre back; he was outstanding in keeping Howard quiet all game, and halted Fryatt at every opportunity.

It was a poor performance, a defeat which had been coming as I predicted beforehand, but we've got to sort ourselves out for a big match on Saturday.
